s/o nicknames

Today May was with me at work and someone was like "awwww hi Ella! Or, Ellie, sorry."

...No, you were wrong on both names.

Re: s/o nicknames

  • We haven't any problems yet. I am good with Will, William, or even Liam.  I don't want him called Bill, Billy, or Willy.

My vet calls him W, which I am okay with.  I think it's cute that she has given him a nickname.  They have a fridge at the office that is covered with pics of all the clients (animals) and a picture of Will.  I feel honored that he made the cut. : )

That's my biggest issue wiht the name William, D wants to use it because it's his middle name and I hate Bill/Billy/Willy yuck.

And I never even thought of Ella or Ellie for little Miss May.

  • I'm hoping we can avoid the nickname Emma for Emily, but it won't break my heart if a few people call her that. I have a feeling I'll be shortening it to just "Em" a lot.

With my experience, nicknames kind of come and go. Everyone called me Ali for the longest time, but the older I get it seems that more people are sticking to my full name.

William is my dads name -- DH and I have already chosen that as a middle name is we have a son - it feels like a nice strong name.

I am Kate - not Katherine, Kathleen - just Kate - and that's why my mom named me that.
