Re: Oprah

  • Doesn't bother me too much.  I hardly ever have a chance to watch.

I did hear this really funny thing on the radio this morning...I'll have to see if I can find it.

  • I do like her, but I think she's a little too much right now.  Many other shows have ended with less fanfare (and less "ego").  She can get over herself a little bit now.

However, I missed it today and I'm curious what the last show was like?  Anyone see it?

  • I like Oprah & all - not a huge fan of the show but I'd occasionally watch it at the gym.  TBH I'm just sick of hearing about it.

Just like I was sick of seeing Susan Lucci on the TV every time they announced the cancellation of AMC and OLTL.  I just kept thinking that a lot of actors are going to lose their jobs, yet the media only seemed to be focusing on that overrated old hag.

There's so much going on right now.  All these people dying in tornadoes, cresting lakes, nut jobs plotting revenge over the bin Laden bum rush and what not.  Yet the media seems to be focusing more than enough attention on the retirement of Oprah.

  • The ONLY problem I have with it is the fact that she gives Chicago a great name, brings celebrities to us and helps our economy.

I did enjoy most shows but some were downright boring. :)

  • I have to agree...how long can a "farewell" last? It seems like this has been going on since this season started.

That having been said, I did DVR her show, and I would see if it was anything interesting to me or not before deleting or saving it. I do enjoy her show when I watch it, but honestly I haven't watched as much in recent years. Change can be good sometimes though :-)

  • ditto - the only time i watched was while i was on the treadmill and listening to Lithium Rock in my ears... lol... so i usually made up the storylines...  sad for her but i did catch her grab her pup as her last "friend" in line - did love that as pets are ALWAYS there for you no matter what!

  • Eh I usually stick her on the DVR if the topic is interesting. Loved Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts last week or two weeks ago but I don't DVR them all and I won't be heartbroken without her. And it will free up some DVR space lol
  • Nah, I am with you. I didn't watch too often, just tivoed her favorite things. She still has like 10000 other things that will keep her in the spotlight, not like they are shipping her off to Mars.

  • I'm so with you. I almost didn't open this post because I didn't feel like hearing about how sad it is to see her go. I'm a jerk, hehe Big Smile
  • I heard that they booed her after she said she wasn't going to give them any gifts! :)
