At the Pump - cash vs. credit
Someone I know told me this is mostly exclusive to our area but I find that hard to believe.
5 years ago when gas prices shot up gas stations around here began charging different prices for cash or credit. It's highly controversial at times as some people argue that it is the price of running a business end of story and they shouldn't be passing that cost along.
Is this a frequent occurence in your neck of the woods? We have a few places that still do not charge that cost but it's not many. Just curious.
Re: At the Pump - cash vs. credit
There are a couple, but very few. Mostly the independent stations do it.

Wow maybe it really is more of a thing up here, the difference can be quite large (.09 - .14 / gallon in my experience). *Summer* I bet you would notice it.
In the past the two prices that would be listed on the signes were regular vs premium. Hmmmm
Okay, yeah, I'm thinking they don't do it at any near me then
They don't do that around here except for speedway and it's not cash or credit, it's credit or debit. You get .03 off if you use debit instead of credit at the pump.
I get my gas at Kroger and get .10 off a gallon each time no matter what form of payment. Some Shell gas stations will take our Kroger card for .10 off too.
Shell gas stations around here do that for our Giant (grocery store) cards.
Do you like jewelry? Buy 2 get 4 half off, your half off items are your most expensive items

I just found out about this, sadly we have few Shell's and even less Kroger stations. Ugh
Yup we're both getting ripped off.
this.

I usually either go to Costco or Stop & Shop because their prices are usually a few cents lower than the regular gas stations. Plus at S&S, for every $100 I spend on groceries I get $0.10 per gallon at either their gas station or any Shell station.
Yup this sounds just like us, dh told me he thinks the range is wider than what I originally had.

my read shelf:
If you are talking about Tops, I refuse to buy groceries there. I walked in to one store at like 9pm.. they had the whole front entrance of the store blocked off with carts. I couldn't figure out where to enter, so I turned around and drove down the road a ways to a Wegmans. Is it Fast Track that does the membership discount for free? I we have one right near us and I've always been interested in what I would ahve to pay for the membership.
We tend to go to Delta Sonic I think there are some in 'Cuse, but I don't know how close to you. Or we are able to get .03 off per gallon at NOCO with our AAA card.
