One more day and we're on to Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer! How is everyone today?
I am upset about he Bruins game last night - we had this in the bag and missed our chance. It WILL be nice to bring it back to Boston though to win the series

Re: It's Thursday
I have spent the last few days all day doing bar review. This blows. On tap for today: Real Property law lecture, Evidence questions and lecture. Kaplan is currently the enemy.
I did however take a few breaks this week to purchase new goodies! I got a pair of nude wedge closed toe shoes from Neiman's, Coach sneakers and a pair of via spiga sandals from the Nordy sale yesterday, an anthro top, two sleeveless tops from the Nordy sale I had my eye on earlier this week, and a maxi skirt. I'm only 4 days into bar review, I am going to go broke this summer.
As for the weekend DH is on service at the hospital and I will have a few review lectures left, maybe just a Monday BBQ at his dad's.
Andplusalso, my ugly BM dress for my evil SIL wedding has arrived. Then she tells me I need to go find silver sandals for the dress, which is awesome since that is literally the only color of shoe I don't already own. Sigh.
Good morning! TGIT! It's already too humid for me.
And I'm currently a resident of Crazy Town. Work has been insane for the past two weeks with no sign of letting up. Very detail oriented proposals, more than one at a time, all day long. Coming in early, leaving late. MFD is in one of his melancholy states, and it is driving me crazy. I do not understand this and I never will. I can't get caught up with house and yard work. And then of course Relay is two weeks from Saturday and I have no clue what I still need to do.
Wah wah whew.I am so overwhelmed with life right now I would just like to lay down on the floor and cry. I don't often feel like this so it freaks me out and also makes me feel like a whiner.
Anyway. Last night I worked late of course, went home and ate, caught up on the last three episodes of The Good Wife (best show ever), cleaned the front window and sill and the basement windows, picked up a bit, packed lunch and gym bag, and fell out at 11.
This morning I woke up and felt utterly insane, yelled at MFD, loaded the dishwasher and wiped down the kitchen, and was here at the buttcrack of dawn working on a proposal.
My computer is doing some funky crap. Good times!
Only Thursday? This week is killing me. Just trying to stay under the radar and get through this week, I'm so unmotivated! Saturday I plan to stop by Coach and spend the coupon I got in the mail on this:
And then Sunday I'll be in Philly for a wedding. Not looking forward to driving home on Memorial Day, I-95 sucks monkey balls. A co-worker lent me Season One of True Blood, and now I'm trying to think when I will be able to find time to watch it without Jeff around. His distaste for many of my fave shows (Criminal Minds, Glee, used to be Lost, Heroes, Dexter) is really taxing my schedule!
On the news this morning they showed a snippet of a piece they're doing on alternative transportation and it really pissed me off - I'm interested to see if the full story tonight is any better. It was really one-sided, and the woman basically just complained about the downfalls, plus she said it was 'too expensive' but it turns out that she bought three separate passes for the light rail, bus, and metro when she could have bought ONE day pass for all three and saved over $4. And she didn't even mention that for regular commuters, there are passes for a week or a month, at reduced rates, and some employers offer further reductions (pre-tax, subsidies, etc). Shouldn't the news be ENCOURAGING people to take alternative transportation? I get that there are drawbacks, I really do, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's a good option (she actually said, "I don't think it's feasible for anyone I know", referring to public transport) and some people have no other choice, plus it really is cheaper than car insurance, parking, gas, etc. Dumbbitch. Sorry...rant over!
dear lord, i cannot believe it is only thursday! havent gone for a run since monday due to work, stomach issues, and moms surgery. hopefully can go today!
i just want it to be tomorrow night...
anyone have fun plans for the weekend?
Blog
Laura, where is your wedding Sunday? 95 sucks it all the time, especially on holidays. Rage.
Weekendy plans: MFD is away Friday night until Sunday morning. I need to get my house and yard in top shape.
Saturday night I have drinks for a friend who just graduated from nursing school. Sunday going to see a friend play music at an outdoor BBQ, then off to SIL's housewarming party.
Otherwise hausfrauing and yard working my behind off.
Morning all. Went to kickball signup last night and had a blast. Was considering not playing (it's expensive, but all $$ goes to charity), but going last night reminded me how much fun the mid-week break is.
Got home late, ate dinner, then crashed on the couch. We got a fancy new blanket for pug to lay on. I stole it and passed out. Woke up at 11, got jammies on and went to bed. Couldn't fall asleep until midnight. 4:45 came WAY too early.
Weekend plans: Hosting our housewarming bbq on sunday. So far only 7 RSVPs, get on it people, I need to grocery shop and plan the menu! The stress of getting the house in order by then is freaking me out tho. DH has a 2 page honey do list which includes moving the patio furniture from old house to new house. Kind of a big deal.
Steph-why did you yell at MFD? And do you want to come do some yardwork for me? I'm a newbie and have no clue what I'm doing!
Angie-pics please of your purchases!
Shauni-how did your mom's surgery go?
After I left work last night my boss texted me with a "call ASAP". Basically telling me, I might have to work overtime today and tomorrow. She's going to buy my lunch, but I can't really leave the office because we're under such a strict deadline.
So, I had to change my cookie decorating plans. The change actually made more sense, but I was decorating until 11pm. My dining room, where they're all laid out, smells like sugar. I can't wait to finish them tonight and take pics. Which I will post here, since I can't post on FB til Saturday afternoon.
DH's flight was delayed and so instead of getting home around 12:30 last night, he got home at 4:30. Woke me up accidentally, and then I was too happy to have him home to go right back to sleep. So I'm exhausted.
Angie- Yes, please pics of the ugly BM dress
.
Tbears- Where did you go on your field trip?
Yes, this week is really dragging and has been the longest week EVER! I kept thinking yesterday was Thursday.
I was able to order my mom's rx, apparently the system was down.
I went to the post office yesterday afternoon to take a work package. Note: Shipments to Russia must be taken into the post office. The lady at the counter was so slow. I didn't get out until 5:15 pm. I felt so bad because there were only two windows open and I was at the second window for 20 minutes. If that wasn't bad enough, the shipping guy didn't package it in a flat rate box so I had to pay the difference in the shipping charges. I'm going to bring it up to the bookkeeper because I'm going to get reimbursed for my $14.58, darn it.
We filled up at COSTCO, $3.93 per gallon, woohoo for the Honda and $4.09 per gallon for the Maxima. I
the Max, but having to put only premium gas sucks.
Plans for the weekend include
Sat- Yard Sale, BBQ at my aunts for her grad party (certificate in Drug & Alcohol Studies).
Sun- Taking flowers to Rich's dad at the National Cemetery & camping.
Mon- Moving day and we might BBQ too.
Laura - I love True Blood and Dexter! Also: The Wire was amazing if you haven't seen it.
Brew: Here are a few pics of what I picked up:

And the ugly BM dress (mostly awful b/c this is an outdoor afternoon on July 31 wedding outside in the sun with floor length, navy blue polyester. Kill me now.)
Misty - he has been less than helpful around the homestead the past two weeks, plus he's been super mopey for no reason, and he needs to get his head out of his a$$. I'm not the maid, chef, cruise director, landscaper, fun brigade, or any combination of the five. I am not a nice person when you don't hold up your end of the bargain. He's known me for 21 years. He should know better.
I have zero idea on yardwork. I just try to clean it up like I would if it was inside. hahahahhahaahha
Laura - I work in Center City. The best thing is that it should be pretty empty with everyone at the shore and no one working.
Angie-I don't envy you in that BM dress..suck! On a happy note, those nude wedges made my day. Could never pull them off myself, but oh so fun to look at
Steph-I truly believe men have some sort of PMS. DH gets mopey/grumpy on a bi-monthly basis. Hella annoying.
On a similar note, DH used to biitch and moan at me for not keeping up w/ the [old] house. Now that we're in the new, fancy joint, I've nagged him constantly about putting his dishes in the diswasher, turning the faucet off completely so it won't leak, keeping doors shut (pantry, laundry room), turning off lights when not in the room, putting shoes on rug, not hardwood floor, keeping clutter put away, closing the screen door before he closes the actual door, putting dirty clothes in the master closet that's bigger than a bathroom, and closing the blinds at bedtime. And we've only been in the place for FIVE DAYS!
WTF is going on here? I'm no Susie Homemaker by any means, but this place is new, clean, beautiful, expensive, and nicer than we've ever known. I'm just trying to keep it that way...sheesh!!
Awesome, at least we don't have to worry about city traffic! We're staying at a Sheraton, and there's a shuttle to the venue so we don't have to worry about anything but where our hotel is.
Late post for me today. Was setting up for tonights Pre-k graduation. I am so tired and I won't get home till 10-11pm tonight. I could skip out on dinner after but I'm not gonna give up my yearly thai food. Especially since I missed out last year because I wasnt feeling well.
I am soooo glad I have a 3 day weekend. No waitressing this weekend so I have 3 whole days off. Of course, no husband because they are FINALLY opening the restaurant tomorrow. I am hoping he get Sunday night off like he said so we can go see "The Hangover 2". Greg has not been to the movies since the first one.
Hi All, I am very late to the game today and really just popping in and out.
My brother and his fiance are visiting tomorrow for the weekend and with DH working so much and all of the projects we have taken on lately, our house is a mess. We have been painting and sanding and it seems like no matter how much I clean it is still dusty. Today is all about complete top to bottom cleaning and organizing. Also hoping to put the last coats of polycrylic on our desk and getting the last 1/5 of the living room painted. Blah... I also really need to get some of our plants in the garden.
Hope you are all enjoying the day.
