I emailed Reps. Kelly and Kreisel last week to thank them for having the courage to stand up against the marriage amendment. I got this email from Rep. Kelly today and thought I'd share it. His speech is very powerful, and if you haven't watched Kreisel's speech, it is worthwhile.
ETA: As I'm thinking more about this, I bet his response was copied and pasted to everyone who emailed him. Duh me. Still cool that he actually cares about the issue enough to go above and beyond with the issue.
I have been thinking about the events of the last few days and I
was wondering it you could do me a favor. I'm not sure if you had the
opportunity to watch the discussion on the House floor and if not, I
have included the link showing my statement.
I have decided to do this at this time because of all the people
who have been so gracious in contacting me with their words of
encouragement and support. We need to frame the debate and discussion
over the next 18 months and in my opinion, it needs to be focused on
individual rights and our own freedoms that allow personal choice. I
believe that will resonate with the majority of Minnesotans.
My request to you, would be to view my remarks and if you believe
it is the right message, would you please forward it along to as many
people as you can. Thank you for your consideration and for your
support.
Sincerely,
Tim Kelly

Man, they follow a very rigid protocol to even address another person. So much pomp and circumstance! I didn't realize it was that formal.
Thanks for posting that!
