Storms

Anyone else have some heavy storms and wind last night?

Im so glad it wasn't bad last night, but it sure looked like it.  Winds where I live got up to 61 mph.  Our trees were bending.  But, thank goodness everything and everyone is ok!

In my parents yard, one of their trees was uprooted :(  But, nothing else was damaged, and the tree fell in a part of their yard that it didnt harm anything.

We've been having really mild weather here...the sun's even trying to shine this morning.

But I know that tons of places have been having nasty weather.  I saw that a friend of mine in St. Louis (who lives pretty close to Jessica, I think) said there was at least one tornado near her last night.  And I know that Emily was riding out storms with the boys at her parents house last night.

I hope everyone is staying safe!!!

  • The storm hit at a terrible time yesterday.  It hit right as schools were getting out.  All of the local elementary schools kept the buses until 5:30 or 5:45 b/c they had to wait for the tornado warnings to pass.
Chase and I were at his doctor appt. when it hit.  We had to stay in the waiting room for a little while b/c the sirens had been going off.  The office is on the 3rd floor, so I had a great view of the storm as it came in.  It was one of the scariest skies I have ever seen.  A lot of churches cancelled services and 1 high school postponed graduation until tomorrow b/c of the storm.
My sister lives outside of Kansas City and her kids had to sit in the hall for over an hour b/c the sirens kept going off.

It was def. a tense night in St. Louis last night.

  • ugh I am so exhausted from last night...

We knew we would be getting bad weather sometime between 9:00 pm and 3:00 am. The storms woke me up around 11:30. It was raining so hard and the wind was very strong. But the worse part was the lightening it was unreal. When the thunder would go it would shake our windows. I got up when it started storming and watching out the window or looked on my phone to make sure we were not under a tornado warning. Thankfully we were just under a tornado watch.

I know one time the lightening sounded like it hit right in our woods. That was a pretty scary moment. Thankfully around 3:00 it went away and I went back to sleep. But I was tense the entire time.
