Sangria recipes!
We're having people over Sunday for an epic MeatMorial Day party and I have been craving me some sangria.

Re: Gimme your favorite...
I've been testing Sangria recipes this year! I'm determined to perfect one by the end of the summer.
Here's my formula so far:
1 bottle Pinot Grigio
1/2 cup triple sec
1 cup Sprite or Sierra Mist
Sliced peaches, nectarines, and lemons (I think sliced apples could be good too)
We went through 8 pitchers of this stuff the night of the Slumber Party. Big hit.
Cut up orange, apple, melon and freeze 1/2 of them. They will act like ice cubes and are yummy.
I don't measure anything so these are very rough estimates:
I like using Rioja or Red Zin. Put in a pitcher: couple of cinammon sticks, the unfrozen fruit, and use a dark rum or brandy (not too much b/c you can always add!) and about 1/4 cup of sugar. I squeeze a 1/2 lemon and 1/2 orange into it. Stir and chill for 1-2 hours. I put about 1/2 Cup of club soda or more to taste. I like adding it to the wine right before you serve.
Add frozen fruit and club soda and enjoy!
Am I the only one who uses vodka?
We make white sangria and it's similar to Neuner's:
1 bottle white wine (we tend to use the $4 TJ vino verde)
1 cup vodka (citrusy if you'd like, pear is yummy too)
1/2 cup triple sec (or Grand Mariner if you're ritzy)
4 cans Diet Sierra Mist (more citrusy flavor, you could buy by the bottle)
1/2 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
2 oranges, sliced into rounds
3 peaches, cut into eigths
1 apple, thinly sliced
1 RIPE pear, thinly sliced
1 bunch white grapes, halved
Cut up fruit, freeze grapes, combine.
Stand up for something you believe in.
i made this recipe alllll last summer. it was a huge hit!
sangria
with these changes: i used 4T simple syrup or honey (both versions were good) instead of the 3T sugar and i used seltzer or club soda instead of squirt (i don't even know what that is, i assume like sprite)
and make sure you eat the alcohol-soaked fruit!
adding vodka sounds brilliant to me...
I love:
1 bottle pinot grigio
2 cups juice such as orange peach or orchard peach
peach schnapps to taste
cut up oranges and peaches
If people are into getting tipsy, my fav party drink is:
a six pack of light beer
1 handle vodka
1 pitcher country time lemonade
serve in a party bucket with lots of ice
Vodka makes everything better.
MB, in case you couldn't tell mine is a white sangria- it is really nice and I can drink it like water.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Thanks so much ladies!
