TR: how to keep kid in the house
Will can now undo a deadbolt. On our front door. Luckily I can lock the glass storm door to buy myself some time to grab him. But it's just a matter of time before he figures this out as well. What are some options on keeping the door locked? I don't want him opening the door everytime the doorbell rings, which is what he currently does. The glass lock isn't strong, and someone could force the door open and grab him by the time I unlatch Chance and get over to the door! I need some options to present to DH in the next few days, as we need a trip to a hardware store anyway...
Thanks...Mom to a fast Houdini!

Re: TR: how to keep kid in the house
A cheap, easy solution is to stick a butter knife in the top of the door between the door and the frame. My parents used to have to do this at night as my sister would sleepwalk and go outside.
Otherwise you could just get a chain lock and put it way up high on the door. He'll still be able to open the door a bit, but not far enough to escape, hopefully.
