Where to buy (affordable) wide width shoes ??

I pretty much get almost all of my shoes at Payless. But it seems that lately their selection of wide widths has shrunk dramatically.

Not really into paying a lot for shoes, especially since the last time I dished out $$ for name brand heels they fell apart 6 months later. Sad

So I'm looking for a good place to buy affordable shoes. Right now I'm looking for cute heels (something I can wear to work, not super-dressy).

My feet were borderline wide-width before, but since having DD, I definitely need wide-width shoes, especially when it comes to dress shoes.

DH suggested I try some online places, but online shoe shopping scares me. I'd hate for them not to fit & then have to pay to ship them back.

Recommendations for affordable shoes that won't fall apart quickly, and are cute? Prefer IRL store, but will go online if you include some tips on sizing Wink

TIA!

  • Not a huge selection, but DSW does carry them.

  • DSW does have some...I love Naturalizers and Kelly & Katie brands.

zappos.com would have a better selection and they do have free shipping both ways, so if they don't fit right, you won't have to eat that cost.

  • Hmm, I'm not sure you're going to be able to find cheap wide with shoes at a local store.  Easy Spirit is about it, but IMO they're not all that comfortable.  Some of the shoe stores at the outlet malls have a bit of a selection and there is a Zappos outlet somehwere in SW KY.  In all honestly I would try the Walking Store or a specialty shoe store then search online for better prices.  New Balance now has sandals & dress shoes and they are very comfy but VERY $$.  Joe's New Balance outlet online has some for way less $.

  • I will second Zappos. I have wide width feet as well and they are fabulous! I've never had to send anything back, but I'm fairly certain it's free returns.
