VA winery transport = FAIL
so it looks like VA wine adventures has gone out of business
and since they were the most reasonably priced of the transport companies i called, i guess we're driving ourselves to wineries. a little disappointing but i'd rather take fewer sips during tastings and put the $300+ we'd have spent on transportation towards wine to bring home!
i think it you have more than two people, it's definitely worth doing but for just us it wasn't worth it.
transportation fail aside, i'm so looking forward to lots of wine & beer next weekend. thanks again for all the winery and restaurant recs!
Re: VA winery transport = FAIL
I once tried to arrange winery transportation for a bachelorette party, and never got a response. Only later did I learn that the companies I was attempting to contact were owned be the infamous Salahis! Now I'm glad the transportaiton fell through :-)
I do think a few local limo companies may offer winery tours...not sure about price, etc though.
Sounds like a fun weekend!
eek! definitely good that transportation fell through!
i called and e-mailed several companies and with the tasting fees, taxes, gratuity, etc... there was nothing under $300 for the two of us. and like i said, if i'm spending that much, i'll put towards wine! VA wine adventures had $125/pp including the tasting fees which was a good deal compared to the other options i was looking at.
I can't check the price's right now, but Chariot's For Hire does wine tours.
The owner comes to speak at my school's career day, and has also donated limo service to the school more than once.
