AW - My baby is Sweet 16 today

Since this board is SLOW I just have to AW a little.

My baby girl turns 16 today. Now, she's not really a baby anymore, but she will always be my baby. I'm feeling kind of sentimental today...

It feels like it was just yesterday I brought her home from the hospital. She has grown into a beautiful person and I'm proud of her everyday.

I wish I knew how to PIP. I'm not sure it would work on my computer at work even if I knew how though. I can never see PIP's in other people posts...

I don't mind. Sometimes I'm still a little embarrassed, so it's a little hard to talk about with strangers, but I'm working on that.

She is doing really well. She is 20 weeks now. Starting to show a little. If you know it's there, you can see a baby bump, but it depends on what she wears too. She tends to like big baggy clothes anyway, so a lot of the time you can't see it.

She had some cramping and a little spotting on Monday, so we went to the ER (at the doctor's direction) and they checked her out. Everything was fine. I guess it just happens sometimes. They did an ultrasound because they were going to do one this week anyway, so they just did it a few days early. She's having a boy. She's pretty excited.

I'm doing okay. I'm trying to be positive and starting to get a little excited. Babies a such a miracle, no matter who is having them. It's hard not to get excited about that. But I'm struggling a lot with boundaries. Where do I still parent my child - because she is still a child - and where do I back off and let her do her own thing. KWIM? It's a very hard line to find.

Thanks for the thoughts. Keep us in your thought/prayers/good vibes - or whatever your thing is - we are going to need all the help we can get. :)

  • That's good to hear.

Wow, 20 weeks already? Is she having fun getting ready for him? Does she have names picked out? I can't remember if you said before...is the Baby's Father involved?

I can imagine what a tough spot you're in. Especially with what you said -- still parenting your child but also backing off and letting her parent.

She is very young but she seems that she is mature and smart enough to make good decisions when it comes to parenting and growing up very quickly. She's reall lucky to have a Mom as supportive of you.

I'll definitely keep you in my prayers and thoughts! I can't wait for you to share pictures Big Smile
