Father's day gift help

So Josh was super sweet and thoughtful this Mother's day and got me a white gold necklace with a baby bootie charm on it. There are tiny diamonds on the bootie and he had the back engraved with "October 2011". So sweet!

Anyway, I want to get him something for Father's day but I have no idea what! He has everything and I'm all out of ideas. I've looked on gifts.com, uncommongoods.com, redenevelope.com and I've stilll got nothing!

Any good ideas for something thoughtful?

Re: Father's day gift help

  • That is PRECIOUS.

If you want to go kind of silly, here you can get scrubs for him to wear at the hospital that say "I'm the Daddy!" : http://www.daddyscrubs.com/categories/Medical-Scrubs

or maybe a new video camera so he can record videos of the baby?

  • I'd love to find Glen a cute book about being a Father.

Hmm I don't really have one in mind...it just depends on what I find. I guess maybe around $200? Although I know he spent more on me:/ I can never top his gifts though! Impossible!

  • If I were you I'd wait til you find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. If it is a boy, I'd do a matching set of jerseys or maybe golf outfits or something. If it is a girl I'd give him a nice tie and cufflinks and maybe wrap up a fancy girl's outfit that says "Daddy's girl" on it.

He does give you awesome gifts. Smile

I do like Ames suggestion to get him a video camera. We have a Flip and love it.  You can also customize it with a picture.

I like these suggestions or the video camera suggestion.

  • Once you know the gender, they have these cute books. One's called "why a daughter needs a dad" and the other is a son one. That would be cute along with something. Kevin has always wanted a pocket watch so that's what I'm getting him. An engraved one. I just haven't figured out what I want it to say yet. He wants one to pass down.
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

Thanks! The books sound cute! I was also considering an engraved pocket watch. He's wanted one since our wedding. He got all his GM one and regretted that he didn't also get one for himself....thanks for the good ideas!

Ok. My vote is cute book and engraved pocket watch. I like the most sentimental things. The camera would be awesome, but not as 'personal'. Also, how cool would it be to pass down the watch when your LO has a LO.

You mean SmithJones is not his real last name? Thanks for reporting this. I saw the name and was like "there's a guy posting here?"
