Books!

I didn't notice if there's an old thread with this subject, but thought Id start it up.

I love to read and have hundreds of books.Personally, I enjoy nothing more than sitting on the beach or somewhere quiet with a good book. I've switched to the Nook because I've run out of room for storing all the books quite honestly, and its so much lighter to carry in the purse than a book..and I love it.

Moving on to the important questions:

1. Do you have a preference as to what you enjoy reading? Fiction, non-fiction...or do you mix it up?

2. Do you have a favorite author?

3. What are your picks for favorite book to suggest to other people?

4. What are you reading now? Or, what do you plan on reading next?

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)

  • Moving on to the important questions:

    1. Do you have a preference as to what you enjoy reading? Fiction, non-fiction...or do you mix it up?  i mix it up, but mostly read fiction.

    2. Do you have a favorite author? not really....there are some that i definitely avoid, though.

    3. What are your picks for favorite book to suggest to other people? the handmaid's tale, by margaret atwood.  hands down, the best book i've ever read.

    4. What are you reading now? Or, what do you plan on reading next?  right now i'm reading "the abstinence teacher."  i just started it.  the last book i read was really compelling, and i devoured it in 2 days...it was called "my abandonment."

  • 1. Do you have a preference as to what you enjoy reading? Fiction, non-fiction...or do you mix it up?

I love to read, I wish I had more time. I like to mix it up- fiction, non-fiction, etc.

    2. Do you have a favorite author?

I have always loved John Irving and Jennifer Weiner for chick lit.

    3. What are your picks for favorite book to suggest to other people?

I really liked Devil in the White City and of course my all time favorite is The World According to Garp.

    4. What are you reading now? Or, what do you plan on reading next?

New York by Edward Rutherfurd.  I have been trying to get into The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, but I haven?t gotten past the first few chapters. I also have Diane Ravitch?s The Death and Life of the Great American School System in my stack of books to read this summer.

Im with you on the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series...I've read intro portions to it and just am not drawn to it for some reason, though everyone seems to rave about it. I've since given up trying. LOL

I didn't get into it until more than halfway through the first book.  But I agree - while I'll liked them I don't really get all the hype

  • 1. Do you have a preference as to what you enjoy reading? Fiction, non-fiction...or do you mix it up? Mostly fiction.  I am not a huge fan of non-fiction.

    2. Do you have a favorite author? Not really, other than JK Rowling, because I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan.  I've read the entire series twice.

    3. What are your picks for favorite book to suggest to other people? I always suggest the Outlander series, and HP if they haven't read it yet (I am a HP pusher big time.  Finally got DH to read them after all these years and he admitted I had been right about their awesomness all along)

    4. What are you reading now? Or, what do you plan on reading next? Reading the Hunger Games.  Need to see what all the hype is about.
