Today's Kids Woot is the Live Butterfly Garden for $6.99 + $5 flat rate shipping for up to 3 units. This is the same one they advertise on tv. http://kids.woot.com/ The kit comes with a unique code to order your caterpillars online (you do need to pay an additional $3 shipping).
DD got one for her birthday. We got the caterpillars a couple of days ago and it's been fun watching them grow. DD was so funny when I ordered them - every day when I'd check the mail she'd ask "caterpillars?" I think I'm having at least as much fun as DD is with this.

Oh, I loved doing this as a kid! We did it in 3rd grade and then every year I'd catch caterpillars and grow them. When we moved to SC from NY we had to release 10 Monarchs in PA :P
Caroline is probably too young this year, but definitely on the list of things to do with her!
