I didn't know that you sew?
Re: **Janda**
Yes and no. I've had a sewing machine since early childhood. I took lessons one summer with the lady who watched me (she had 2 daughters around my age too). So, she taught us all to sew. I made lots of stuff including a pair of watermelon print overalls....yes, yes I did, lol!
With that being said, my machine was given to me when my grandmother died and it's very old. I didn't keep up with sewing but I miss doing it. Well, my mom and dad are getting me a brand new very NICE one for graudation. One that embroiders as well. I haven't picked it out yet but am looking again with my mom this weekend.
I really want to get back into it because I want to make cute t-shirts with applique' (very popular in Texas right now - not sure about other places) and just make other stuff. I'm excited to learn embroidery as well!

It's funny because a few weeks ago I out of the blue decided that I want to give sewing a try. But, I kept thinking that maybe it would be too hard for me to learn from scratch. What do you think? I know NOTHING about sewing! But, I feel like it would be really relaxing and rewarding. I think I will enjoy it.
How much would a basic sewing machine cost me? Just an average price.
You think I can do this?? lol
Thanks,
I totally think you can do it! A basic sewing machine that's worth anything is about $200 I would think. I'd look up some reviews on them. A lot of the girls on the craft board recommend one of the project runway ones (you can look at their sticky notes).
It's really not hard. It takes time and patience. Places like JoAnn offer sewing classes and there are TONS of you tube videos. Just start easy and do things with straight edges and work your way up. Before you know it, you'll be doing button holes, zig zag stitches and all sorts of stuff.
Eventually I think I'll quilt some. I want to make our baby bedding when we have babies too

Awesome! That sounds good! Thanks for your advice.
I would love to see your completed projects!! You'll keep me motivated!
I'm going to head over to the crafts board and lurk for a little bit.
