Help a visitor out!!!

The hubs and I will be in Charlotte in a couple of weekends for a wedding. We're coming in on Friday and the wedding is on Saturday night, so we have two days to just bask in our trip without the kids!!

Trouble is, we don't know what to do!

Anyone want to suggest something awesome, so not only can we have a great time, but I can wow him with my nestie knowledge?

Re: Help a visitor out!!!

  • I don't live in Charlotte, so I only of a few things. We have been to EpiCenter and there are lots of stores/restaurants to check out and there is often something going on such as live music.

Hopefully one of the Charlotte ladies will see this and can give you some other options.

  • What type of stuff do you like to do?  For outdoors-y stuff, the White Water Rafting Center is really fun.  There is rafting, ziplining, hiking, etc.  There's also the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.  For cultural stuff, go uptown to some of our great new museums.  There's the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art (fabulous - my favorite), the Mint Museum (another favorite), the African American Museum, the Levine Museum of the New South.  The Epicenter is uptown and it has lots of bars and restaurants, great for going out at night.  There is good shopping in Dilworth (boutiques) and Southpark (the mall), or Northlake mall is good too, just depends on where you're staying.  Awesome burgers at Big Daddy's Burger Bar for dinner.  Great pastries and sandwiches at Amelie's.  If you're looking for something in particular, that would help us give advice!
  • Awesome! Thanks.

Normally when we stay in Charlotte we stay with a friend and go to Concord Mills, but we don't want to shop, or at least DH doesn't. I'd love to.

I've gotten the Epicenter rec'ed by a few people so maybe we'll try that out Friday night and maybe a museum on Saturday morning/afternoon.

Where are the restaurants you listed [Big Daddy's and Amelie's]?
