RSVP Question

When you get an invite for something like a bridal shower, when do you RSVP by? I sent out invites about 2 weeks ago for a bridal shower that will be held on June 18th. I said please RSVP by June 10th. About 90% of guests are out of town guests (mostly the brides sisters) and they already have their travel plans set so most know if they can come already or not. I'm just a little worried that I have not received any "Yes" responses and only 3 "No" reponses. I know June 10th is still a while away but I would have expected at least a few more responses by now . . .

Re: RSVP Question

  • I find people are pretty terrible at RSVPing. For Beckett's last birthday party pretty much no one RSVP and I was getting worried. When I began asking, everyone was planning on coming but had forgot to RSVP. And not many people RSVP to my baby shower as well. I think in general people are more likely to rememeber to RSVP when they know they can not attend.

  • I had this issue with the shower that my mom hosted.  I would say two weeks before the event at the latest, but I had at least 4 people who were surprised when we canceled the shower for people here in Tampa.  "But I had the day off!"  But you didn't RSVP, so.  Sorry. How was I supposed to know?
  • I RSVP immediately but Tasha is right.

  • I think my mom is going to call the bride's mom tonight and ask if she for sure knows of anyone coming. I have no way of getting a hold of most of the guest list lol Hopefully she know lol

  • I find people are terrible about it.  We usually do "Regrets only" because people who aren't coming are usually much better at responding.

Ditto!  But my fave is when the "regrets" call you the night before the party when you already have party favors personalized for their kids!  Umm thanks for the notice a-hole!

  • I procrastinate a lot, so I would RSVP by June 10th or 11th.

  • People suck at RSVPing.  Until I got married, I really sucked at it too.  But I really find that most people don't do it until the last minute, even if they've been planning for months.  And even then, I still had to track people down.

  • This is one of my biggest pet peeves.  People seem to have such an issue RSVPing!  When I get a formal invitation to something I try to RSVP asap.  If I am unsure for some reason I try to let the person hosting know when I will have an answer. Hopefully you'll get some more soon!
