Will the people that believe this kind of garbage be disappointed, or relieved, when this nonsense does NOT happen?
My guess is disappointed - righteous indignation is so much more satisfying than eating crow.

What about "country first?" Surely all those people want to see America suceed more than they want to be right? Right....?

Right. Don't look at the few bad apples as any indicator of the whole bunch. McCain made a great speech that was necessary and I believe all will follow his lead to get behind the President to make America better. This I think there will be less divisiveness now than in 2004 to start for many reasons and think most will support the start of his Presidency due to the massive undertaking that needs to be done for the economy.
