OGBYN/Maternity Centers in Jacksonville, FL
Hello :)I am looking for a new OBGYN in the Beaches/Southside area of Jax. I love my current Dr. but she is out on OP and not an OB. My husband and I are looking at going off the pill in the fall and we'd like to schedule a pre-conception visit, but we don't know where to go. We know we won't want to drive across town for monthy or weekly appointments down the road... so it's time for a new Dr.I figured I should look into their affiliated hospitals as well, to be sure I would want to give birth in a hospital affiliated with the doctor I choose. Are there any OBGYNs or maternity centers in the area that you would especially recommend? Am I getting ahead of myself? Thanks!
Re: OGBYN/Maternity Centers in Jacksonville, FL
I don't think you're getting ahead of yourself. About three years ago I posted something similar on the board myself. I was referred to the North FL OBGYN group for Baptist South. They have offices next to that hospital, in Mandarin and Reedy Branch on Baymeadows off the 9A. I love the group and have had good experiences with all the doctors there so I recommend them. They may be a little far for you though.
Baptist Beaches might be where you'd like to look for a recommended OBGYN or group.
Not sure if you have specific concerns but my preconception visit was very uneventful those almost three years ago and I didn't really learn anything I hadn't already read. I'd suggest starting to take an OTC prenatal and see your dentist if you haven't seen one in a while.
Good luck!
Thanks, Madisen
So far I like Beaches Baptist the best. My husband was there for a few days last year and I was impressed with the facility and staff.
I am already on a vitamin that has the folic acid I need, so I think I'm straight in that department. Would I need an apt just to check out my general health, where I stand on vaccinations, etc?
I need to find a new dentist too... my last one is very close but I have a feeling he's ripping me off. ha.
I used this practice last year for my second pregnancy, and loved them! Dr. Slade ended up delivering, and I continue to see them for GYN stuff now. Can't say enough good things about almost everyone there!
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
I am currently going to A Place For Women. I have not met Dr Van Scriver yet but everyone else at the practice is great. I switched practices to deliver at St Lukes because I have heard great things about them as well.
Dr Slade has left the practice which is upsetting because she was my favorite.
