I know we've posted all this stuff b4, but I love reading about the special moments, they are all very sweet & creative....so for ex, what was on your play list for, let's say dances like --- bride & groom entrance, dad/daughter, son/mom, cake cutting, bouquet toss/garter.....etc.
If you didn't do the dances, something special that you did at your wedding, Tradition or even something silly, that made your day extra special....or maybe just a funny or unexpected moment that noone that was there will ever forget....
all in favor of our anniversary month of course....something to bring our memories back to 3 years ago.....
Re: on the '1st dance' tip...share a special moment (or pic) from your special day
We combined the mother/son dance with me and my grandpa dancing. We danced to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban.
Funny, memorable moment- Right after we finished our dance together my grandpa had the DJ play a song about an auctioneer. My grandpa has always given me a hard time about how fast I talk, and so this was his special dedication to me.
During our ceremony a train went through the town. In our wedding video when the train blows its whistle the camera is trained on my face and you can see me roll my eyes. The guests laughed a little. If only it would have waited a few more minutes it would have been perfect to blow during our kiss!
My Profile
We only did first dance and wedding party dance.
Entrance to reception - Throne Room music from Star Wars. That was probably the most unexpected.
We also had a photo booth at the reception, which everyone had fun with.
ha ha steph....i guess that's the 1st time i've heard that version....too funny! & damn that train danielle!!!!
Only thing out of the blue at our wedding was when i got up to the alter....H & I did sort of like a do-see-do trying to get positioned right.
We didn't have a rehearsal or "dry run" so to speak....which was fine except our officient kept trying to re-position us at the alter with..."a little bit closer together, more facing each other, a little closer, no back up a little..." I was so frustrated & i kinda snapped at her "where do you want us?". I don't think anyone really noticed, but it kinda took away from the sweetness of the moment.
Now I can just laugh about it....H & I kinda joke now & say to each other......"no together, no apart, no face each other..."
also, our dj kinda put our folks on the spot at the head table during the toast....i told him my mom had a toast, but unless someone else specifically asked to make one, that was it.
Well, he passed the microphone on down the line anyway....and everyone @ the head table looked like a deer caught in headlights....then when it go to h's grandpa.....he just passed it along & said "you're turn...he's you're son".....everyone got a chuckle out of it.
Besides that, all went pretty much as planned.....everyone did get a kick out of my dance with my dad to "pretty baby" by Leon Redbone....i guess just b/c that song is just SO my dad, and it was a sweet moment.

during the ceremony my veil was going all over the place flying into my face. we got married in an historic mansion and my h and the other men got dressed in one of the rooms. not realizing all the wedding guests would be walking through there they left their socks and shoes strewn about. other than that i cant really think of anything. it all went so fast. the special moments were more during the honeymoon when we had a chance to be alone.
that's funny that we both weren't thrilled with our officiant's, (spelled it right this time!) i found her to be rather cold and dry for a vegas wedding.....and I think our photographer was drunk & a little rude, but besides that all went ok.
I forgot, my brother's toast @ the reception was a silly moment too.....he started going on about some of our "inside" jokes we've had over the years....I thought it was hilliarous, but everyone else just thought he was weird &/or drunk...
LOL Guess that's what you should expect when all your guest have already been in vegas for a few days....
good times!!!
