Monday, Monday..I mean Tuesday, Tuesday
How was everyones weekend? Did the sun shine for you like it did for us? I am fairly certain that NE has completely skipped spring and we are well into summer.

Re: Monday, Monday..I mean Tuesday, Tuesday
Our weekend was pretty good. It was hot and sunny here...which has been the norm for the past month or two (we are in a severe drought right now).
We (by we, I really mean Chris, with my mom's help) got some projects done around the house. All of the doors in the house have been replaced with new, painted, six panel doors with new, very nice hinges that match the door knobs we bought a couple years ago. The closet doors in two bedrooms are also replaced.
We wanted to do the closet doors, and we were at Home Depot and saw how inexpensive the other interior doors were, so we decided to make it our Memorial Day weekend project.

Overall mine was pretty low-key, but good.
Friday- Ben and I left work early and went to the Cubs game (we had tix and we tried to sell, but had no offers so we didn't want them to go to waste). It was freezing! About 55F, but sitting in the shade. We left early to go to a party for the end of Craft Beer Week at a local brewery. They were pre-paid tix and unlimited beer from like 7 breweries. Needless to say, we both had a lot to drink and I think we were in bed by 10? (it started at 4).
Saturday- Ben left for a music festival for the wknd; I woke up with a slight hangover but beared through it bc I had a hair appt at a new girl. I got much needed highlights and cut. It the salon I loved it, but now that it's been a few days, I'm really not loving it :O( I miss my old stylist (back home; but she's moving into a new house and btwn our busy schedules we agreed I should get my hair down in Chicago this time). The girl cut way too many layers, even though I said I don't like large gaps of layers on my hair. Ugh. The rest of the day was filled with errands and mindless stuff.
Sunday - I woke up and ran. Good thing, b/c as soon as I got home it started thundering and then raining. It rained until like 4pm. I babysat Sunday night for my FG/RB and had a blast. At 5pm the sun came out and things dried up a bit so we decided to go to the park. It's a huge astro-turf/rubber mat kinda park with a few different play areas in it. Over half of the areas had huge puddles. I was the only one with rainboots on so I started walking through the puddles and picking up worms with sticks. FG has been learning about them in school so the kids were eager to play with them. They desperately wanted to go home to get their snow boots (they don't have rainboots in Chicago) and I decided to just let them take off their socks and shoes and roll up their jeans and play in the puddles. It was a riot! RB looked hilarious (think Huckleberry Finn). We pretended we were worm scientists and took the worms to our lab to compare differences (lab aka the slide) and then we put them back in their natural habitat (aka puddles).
Monday- I ran some errands and did grocery shopping. Trying to get last minute things done for the bridal shower I'm hosting this Sunday!

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermMy weekend was low key - just a lot of stuff locally, which was really nice.
Friday I went to see Bridesmaids with my mom. IMHO, I didn't find it that funny. I think maybe I went in with expectations that were too high? I thought the story line was pretty predictable too? I was suprised I didn't like it after all the good things I heard.
Saturday DH and I went for an awesome hike too, I was soo sweaty after - it was a great workout and had some gorgeous views! We also saw one of my friends from high school and his wife get ordained into the Lutheran church - it was pretty cool to see.
Sunday I sprayed my dried wedding bouquet with some preserving spray stuff so now it's in a vase in the bedroom - yay!! We also met up with my family for dinner for my brothers birthday (olive garden breadsticks, yummmmmmmm!!)
Monday I made a last minute decision to run a race. It was hot and humid (mid 80s I think?), not much shade, and over half of it was up hill, so it was rough. But I beat my time goal and it felt great to get home, shower and put on the race tshirt all before 10 am
Then I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday afternoon and we went to my parents and ordered pizza for dinner.
Pretty relaxing, I wish we could have long weekends more often!

Overall my weekend was pretty fun, I just wish I could have actually relaxed a bit more.
Friday night Jason and I went over to my Dad's house to help him carry some stuff out for bulk trash day, do some laundry, and hang out for a bit. We were both just tired from the week so once we got home we ended up falling asleeping by 11pm.
Saturday we went clothes shopping for Jason, then went to Chipotle for lunch and to see Bridesmaids (which Jason and I both really liked). Afterwards we just hung around the apartment all night.
Sunday we woke up and headed over to my Mom's to get in her pool. My best guy friend was coming into town, so him and a friend of his met us at my Mom's to swim and have a small cookout. Afterwards we (myself, Jason, my friend and his friend) headed back to our apartment and went to bed by 10:30pm, apparently being out in the hot sun and drinking all day made us tired.
Monday Jason had to work so I spent the day hanging out with my friend and then we went grocery shopping and decided to put together a little last minute party. We made homemade pizzas and buffalo chicken dip, invited a few other people over once Jason got off, and spent the evening partying. Everyone left around 11pm, and then it was bed time. I woke up this morning tired and a tad hung over... I sure could have used an extra day off this week.
Best part of the weekend...my friend brought along his 6 month old lab/shepherd mix pup and we were worried he might try to hurt our cats...ha! This poor dog was scared to death of my cat. He was curious about him at first and kept walking up to him so my cat (Bruce) puffed up and totally hit this pup right in the face. The dog cried and cried and then was terrified of Bruce the rest of the time. Bruce weighs about 10lbs and this dog weighs around 45lbs, it was so funny.
Yeah, I felt the same way. I thought the first 20 minutes or so were hilarious, but the rest was meh. Parts of it were funny, but it wasn't laugh out loud funny. I was disappointed, but I think the hype killed it for me. Though Jon Hamm was hilarious. And hot.
We've been on vacation since Wednesday - I go back tomorrow, he goes back Thursday- so we've been pretty low-key. We went to the outlets in Kittery the other day, the movies/dinner on Saturday, and have mostly just hung out otherwise. I think we're going to peel ourselves off the couch later to go out for lunch, and I may go over to the cinema around the corner to see Water for Elephants later. Mostly, I'm just dreading going back to work. Especially since I'm there for a day and a half, then fly to DC for another whirlwind work trip Thursday. Sigh.
Lets see we spent wayyyyy to much money this weekend, but we had a good time!!
Friday we went to that Jazz concert, which was "free" it was on the patio of a grill/ bar of one of the high dollar resorts out here so we ended up have a light dinner there and a glass of wine. service there wasn't what i thought it should be for what we paid for lol, but the music was GREAT!!
Saturday i had to work till 4 which wasn't to bad it rather slow for a saturday!! when i got home my dad and step-mom were already at my house, good thing mike was home to let them in. we hung out for about an hour gave my dad his birthday gift which was a 2 part gift, we got him a really nice shirt, and took him out for sushi.
after dinner with them we hung out and watched a movie with them too, 'I'm number four' it was a good movie. After they left for the night we went over to a friends house the guys played some pool while me and his wife gossiped and had drinks. We made it home by 1:30am and went right to bed!
Sunday we did A WHOLE lot of Nothing!! i don't remember getting out of my Pjs!
Monday we slept in, did some cleaning around the house wood floors require so much sweeping out here in the desert. I went to the dollar store, got a few things and then went and put gas in the car...which was almost on empty...dang gas prices. Then we grilled up some salmon and watched resident evil after life.
I think I need a day to recover from all the stuff we did this weekend!!!
Can't believe it's over and that tomorrow's June!
Mine was very low-key. Nothing too exciting. I spent entirely too much time in the hot sun when I was so pale. I now have sun poison on my chest. It itches, and hurts. I'm sad.
I'm already wish this week to be over.

I spent WAAAAAYYYYY too much money also.
Friday after work we planned to have a low key do nothing night at home but ended up going to meet my parents at a bar that their friends own. Then we went to another one of their friends house's with them and then left and met some of our friends at a bar near our house. We got to bed around midnight, but I had to work on Saturday morning.
Saturday I worked until noon and then we went to the cattle sale that we have been preparing for. Glad to have it over but it is kinda bitter sweet. We ended up buying a cow, her name is Penelope and she is pretty cute. Then we went to dinner with BIL and SIL and then crashed a wedding reception that was almost over. Got home around midnight again and I had to work on Sunday morning.
Sunday I worked all day and when I got home we worked in the back yard for a while and then went to some friends for a bon fire. That was pretty fun, but I was so exhausted!
We slept in on Monday and then had friends over to our house to swim. Our niece and nephew came over and ended up spending the night. It was a pretty low key party but still fun, and HOT!
We had a pretty low-key weekend too.
We went to a marriage class thing that our neighbors invited us to on Friday which lasted from 6-9:30 so we were starving after. We ended up doing pizza and a movie (Little Fockers) at home. Saturday we worked on some artwork for our bedroom. DH made the frames and then I stretched some pretty fabric over it. Thanks to Jack, I had to redo all my work on Sunday. We also gave Odie a pretty close shave for the summer. He looks a little ridiculous right now
We also did some grilling on our new porch.
SO SO SO true!
