My birthday was on Sunday and DH planned a surprise trip for this past weekend. I had NO idea where we could be going - DH even packed for me!!
We were driving and driving and just enjoying the road trip, when finally DH needed me to help him navigate. He was taking me to Cooperstown, NY!!
It was a great weekend. We got into town, grabbed some lunch and then went to play some golf. Cooperstown is right at the end of a lake and the two main roads into town run along either side of the lake. So we stayed at a little lakeside motel, and the golf course was on the lake as well! We walked it for some extra exercise and even got caught in a couple quick passing rain showers. It ended up being a lot of fun!
Sunday we spent a good 5 hours in the Baseball Hall of Fame, walked about the town, popped in and out of stores and just had a relaxing day. Yesterday we got breakfast and then hung around for their Memorial Day parade (which was VERY disappointing). Such a great, relaxing weekend with my H. It was exactly what we needed!
AND.....MIL and FIL got me a Kindle!!!!
I'm so excited, I played around with it all night last night but didn't buy any books yet. I'm in the middle of reading one now so I just couldn't bring myself to buy anything yet. I might download a couple free classics just so I can have some books on there! Anyone with a Kindle want to let me borrow some books?? ![]()
Re: AW: Great bday weekend!
That's pretty awesome! Cooperstown is so much fun! I want to take DH there someday, since I went when I was 15 or 16.
I don't have a kindle, but I have a nook and if you can find a way we can swap between let me know, I don't know how the swapping works because I have never done it before.
That sounds like fun! When you first posted that your hubby planned a surprise trip for you, I definitely told my DH about it. I was like, "isn't that just so cool? And romantic? And awesome? Hint hint hint HINT."
...DH does not get subtlety. Glad you had a good time!

Ha! That's great! Maybe he did get the hint and he'll surprise you at some point!!
