Cable/Internet/Phone providers

Rec your providers please.  U verse and TWC are not an option. TWC doesn't service my area unfortunately.  And u verse, I've vented about them before and today is the last straw.  We have been through 3 cable boxes since march and ALL of them magically are "faulty" giving us a pretty red X on our screen instead of television.  They won't service your house except during business hours and I'm sorry but I work those business hours.  They also won't discount our bill despite the fact that we have gone days with no television thanks to their "faulty" boxes and even though we have had them for 4 years.  Someone was just out here less than 4 hours ago and we already have the red X on our TV again and of course they are telling us no technician can get back out here today.

So, I'm done.  Who else can I use??

Re: Cable/Internet/Phone providers

  • I've been really happy with DirecTv for tv.  We have hardly ever lost service due to inclement weather, and even when we do, it's for a very small time period.  What area do you live in? We had Suddenlink for internet in Georgetown and they have great prices and we never had any trouble with our internet.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • We used to have Grande at our old house and loved them. We wanted them again when we moved, but they don't have service in our neighborhood. That was five years ago, but worth checking out. GL! And sorry Uverse is such a PITA for you. :(

  • Dish has some really good prices right now and we've had them 7+ years with very little weather issues. As for internet you can keep uverse or att dsl without phone lines. I have att dsl w/o a phone line.
  • If you live in Pflugerville, I would see if suddenlink works out there. We paid less than $30 a month for our internet in Georgetown. It was great!
