Bridal Shower Present Help
So a good friend of mine's bridal shower is coming up and I want to get her something nice. I don't really want to get something off the registry because I like to be more personalized. I was planning on getting something on Etsy but I'm having a hard time narrowing down what I want.
I found some pretty serving dishes that I was thinking of getting but I'm not entirely sure of them. I also found a cute hand made creamer and sugar set that's way adorable.
Basically I need to narrow it down to something more manageable, i.e. serving plates - mug set - vase - decoration, etc etc.
HALP!
Re: Bridal Shower Present Help
My favorite favorite wedding gift was an off-registry serving dish that some family friends got us from Mexico.
That is a good choice, IMO, because you can never really have too many (whereas one cream and sugar set is usually all you need).
Ditto Rach. I would go with some sort of serving dish or a bigger bowl. They come in very handy. Personally, I wouldn't use a sugar and creamer set.

The thing that meant the most to us that weren't on our registry were the Christmas ornament we received - there is this kind of painting called Ne Qwa - go here: http://www.neqwa.com/ - it's reverse hand painting on the inside of ornaments - Amanda I think it's something you'd really like to gift. Our Aunt and Uncle gifted us a Santa Claus that was dressed in green with loads of shamrocks and harps surrounding him - absolutely stunning. That same Aunt, for Christmas, gave me a candle holder that was Ne Qwa as well and it was decorated with birds and just very very ornate but delicate and not overdone.
Other than that, maybe you can get her a personalized stamp for her and her soon-to-be hubby? So she can use it instead of writing out her return address on all of her thank you's and future letters/cards to friends? There is a great one here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sweetpaperie but there are tons on etsy as well that may be more tuned to her likings.

I agree I'm always looking for more serving dishes or platters.
I have my sugar/creamer set for my casual dining and one for my formal stuff and I like my table to be matchy matchy haha so I only use those
My mom got us this awesome vase as an engagement gift. It is ceramic with a sea/ocean scene on it and has our names and wedding date glazed on it. It's just a beautiful vase and I get a ton of compliments on it when people are over. Usually I would think a vase is a pretty impersonal gift, but I really do love it and keep it on the mantel on display at all times.
I don't know where you can get it online since she ordered it from a store in Newport, RI - but I think something like that would be nice.
