I need a day off!

... after my day off. Holy crow, I'm exhausted.

My Friday night plans to go to dinner with a friend fell through because she had to do something for her daughter. So E and I just hung out.

On Saturday, though, we went to the blues and wine festival with a friend. It was terrific, but holy crow, it was hot and tiring! Five hours out in the sun, tasting a zillion wines and having a picnic lunch is more draining than it sounds. And I was DD, so after the first half of the winery booths, I spent the second half sobering up to drive home. Still, I'm definitely going again next year. We loved it and came home with 8 or 10 wines, I think.

E's bro and nephew came out Sunday, and we spent the afternoon running them around to the sales at the outlet stores to get BIL interview clothes. And A.C. Moore for me. A late lunch, then playing with the baby while E prepped BIL for the interview. And then E and I completely rewrote BIL's resume. And then at 10 p.m., we ran to the supermarket to get stuff for me to make cake, since I got Bakerella's Cake Pops book at A.C. Moore and was dying to try it. We got home and I baked the cake.

Yesterday, we had lunch with my friend who had to ditch Friday's plans, then went running to the pet store for cat food, and to Home Depot and Lowe's for topsoil and wood and some hardware. While I made cake pops (my first ever and I'm going to blog them tonight!) And made myself nauseous eating way too much cake and melted chocolate as I worked, Eric built a garden box in the backyard so we can transplant the veggies out of their pots... and then he and I dumped nearly half a ton (literally) of soil in. Also, I brought cake pops to the neighbors who frequently shoveled our snow this past winter.

I'm exhausted and need a vacation from my vacation!
