Has anyone been? I pulled a muscle in my chest wall and my doctor referred me to a chiropractor. I am a little bit terrified from what i've seen on TV. Any advice or experience from someone who has been?

My SIL is one and I go to her office.
However, their practice is very different than any other I've heard of or been too. They don't believe in "fixing" just one issue, but your overall body through a series of warm-up and cool-down exercises in addition to an adjustment.
I've been going since November and was originally going 3 times a week (see, told ya it is different!). However, we recently took new x-rays and now I'm only going once a week. It's been really interesting to see the changes in the xrays.
I guess my two cents is, if you're doctor recommended it, I'd look on yelp/family/friends to find a reputable chiro and give it a try.

Mike actually sees someone once a week for his back but its not at all like your typical chiropractor. This guy is similar to PP. Hes very whole body oriented and doesnt do alot of popping and cracking but adjusting with wedges and stuff.
I know you are in the Boston area if you need a recommendation I can get one for you from Mike. He was referred by someone in Boston.

Thank you!! My doctor recommended someone that her patients love but this guys sounds a little less scary!
Thanks for all the advice ladies!
OMG He's awesome! He's this late 30's early 40's greek guy who's adorable....and he insists on stretching and conditioning the area....you go in first and do the electrode massage with heat and music if you want and then he comes in and for me he had me do some exercises with a ball and stretch, and he does massage too and stretching and then you manipulate the spine/neck as needed.....he's the first one i've let crack my neck and its AMAZING!
His receptionist is so sweet and he's just super nice...its in an old house in worcester that he turned into his office...its great...he's super down to earth! when i get the cash together i might go see him just for a quick adjustment...i need it
