Tree Remover Recs.....

We've got a tree that we need trimmed and a tree to be removed and maybe a few more that need to be removed, property lines are questionable on the ones in the back that need to be removed.

Anyways looking for names of tree removers that you've used and been happy with.

Thanks.

  • We love Arbor X.  Not sure if they would come to you, but I'm sure they could recommend someone if they can't.  They're very reasonable and honest.

  • D&D Tree Removal.  Not sure if they work in your area though. Always cheapest and have removed several trees from our house as well as my parents and grandparents.  My Dad knows the owner so that is how I got the recommendation.

  • We recently used Richard's Tree Care to have a very large tree cut down on our property.  The front office lady is very ditzy but they had a good price and came on schedule without any problems at all.  Like others, not sure if they service your area though.

  • Three of my neighbors have used

Bob Lester Jr. Tree Service, Inc.
    Phone: (443) 336-0566

He knows his stuff, less expensive, and his crews are professional.  My neighbor had a tree taken down the other day and the guys had to remove part of the fence.  They came back the next day to repair and replaced the post.  Bob wouldn't accept payment until he had come out to inspect the site himself.

  • Thomas Thieman           410-949-4155

He's fast, licensed and incredibly professional. We had a few trees trimmed on our property and he took a HUGE pile of branches and limbs that had fallen over the year and shredded those at no cost as well.

    I highly rec him!

  • Thanks girls.  I put in requests from a few of the places, will see who gives the best price.
  • Not going well, only heard back from one place and they do not service my area.  I scoured craigslist last night, will be making some phone calls today

    that sucks...

I can pull up the name of the people I used, but we weren't exactly thrilled with them.  They left a godawful mess of small branches and big holes in our yard, and they still haven't been back to fill the holes like they said they would.  (2 months ago)

The actual tree removal part went really smoothly though - on time, quick, etc.  And the price was much more reasonable than the other quote we got, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Lemme know if you want their name after that glowing review...

I'd like their name so that I can avoid them if possible.  I called two places that I found on craigslist and they had no clue where Halethorpe/Catonsville was.  I'm starting to get worried about this.  Maybe I should just buy a chainsaw and cut them myself. :)

  • Our community is considering using Adirondack Tree Experts, based in Beltsville, MD.  The management company has had good experiences with them and the community next door got a great price.  I have no idea what they charge for one tree though.

We got a quote from Adirondack and it was pretty high, but that's compared to the half-assed people we actually ended up hiring, so the price is probably worth it.  they were very quick and professional with the estimate.

the people we used that we weren't happy with was Excel Tree Experts.  Again, they did fine with the actual tree removal - the trees are gone, the stumps are ground, nothing fell on our house - but they left a mess.
