No new posts in four days, tsk

How was everyone's long weekends?  It was great to have a second day with hubs this week!  We saw a couple movies and did some shopping.

  • That's awesome!  What movies did you see?  It's been good.  We finally got some errands and house stuff done so now today we can relax :)

  • Yeah, we're boring sometimes. :( I think it's because we're such a small bunch in comparison to say, those unoriginal summer and fall brides! ;)

    What movies, Panda???

We started out productive. We spent Saturday doing yard work to clean things up before we put it up for sale. Sunday we were so super sore and it was so hot we researched and purchased a new laptop for when DH moves. Today the heat streak continues, so we went to the IL's to have lunch and lounge by the pool. We're home now. Our ac isn't working (technically, it blows cool air but it isn't cool enough to cool the house, so it's useless...I have to make some calls), so we're melting on the couch watching Criminal Minds. Once it cools down we'll go clean up from our yard work.

Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • I'd say this weekend was pretty successful...

Friday night we went to a karaoke party, which was pretty fun, and we went to an awesome burger place mmm.

Saturday I had to bring pepper to the vet because she had a bump on her forehead. turns out, it's a cyst, so they have to remove it on Friday. I'm a little nervous because they have to put her under, and we haven't had to do anything like this before wtih her.

I also bought some flowers and planting soil, and potted some plants. i swear, these are going to live!

Saturday night we ended up going to dinner with some friends, and then went back to their house to watch some TV. Well, all four of us passed out on the couches by 9pm haha. so lame, but so awesome that we have friends like us.

Sunday, I went with my family to help clean out my grand-uncles house, and we walked away with some pretty cool stuff. We got a bed frame, two dressers, and we might get a dining room hutch and buffet. DH also found the naturalization papers from when my grandparents came over to america, which is really, really cool.

Today, we had a BBQ with Dh's family, which was nice and relaxing, and now we're sitting on our patio with pepper drinking tea. ahh so nice.

haha...I'm sure you all wanted to know exactly every detail of my weekend. I hope everyone had a great one!

  • I know... we need to get kicking with this board!

We had a wedding this weekend in the Philly area so we just got back today. Left early and thankfully hit NO TRAFFIC! It was an exhausting weekend, but fun :)

  • My long weekend was good. We were mostly productive this weekend, with some fun thrown in. Saturday was DHs birthday so we drove 90 minutes to the closest theater! We saw Hangover 2. We also did some shopping :) yay. A couple BBQs and overall, this weekend was a lot of fun.

Sandra, what'd you see? I really want to know how the new Pirates is!

  • OK ok, turns out we only saw one.  We were going to go see Pirates (I even bought some Pirates OPI nail polish for when we went, lol) but we never got around to it.  Maybe this afternoon/evening we'll go.

But we did see the Hangover 2.  It was packed, not an empty seat in the house and the movie was hilarious.  I thought the first one was a little better, but this one I'd give four stars.  It was like they had to outdo themselves for the second one so everything was a little more gross than the first.  The music was really good, too.  Overall, I'd say go see it.

Things I didn't like unrelated to the film itself: The guy behind me.  You don't need to slam your foot into the ground repeatedly when you laugh.  It wasn't THAT funny that you couldn't control your limbs.  And also, who brings a three/four year old to a 10 pm showing of a rated R movie!?  I was so pissed at those parents.  The kid babbled the whole way through, started repeating the F word - not surprisingly considering it was every other word in the script and, the kid was behind me (way father back in the theatre), but was undoubtedly looking at the screen.  Penises and boobs everywhere.  I mean really.  Not to mention the full frontal transvestite nudity.

I don't care that it was a holiday weekend.  You don't take your small child to a 10pm movie that's rated R.  Augh. /rant.

PS:  If I see pirates today I'll let you know later how it was.

  • OOOH I was at the spa on Friday and I saw the Pirates OPI line! There's this pastel greenish color that I'm in love with!

  • I liked that one, too, it was mermaid something.  I ended up going with Steady as She Rose, which is like a pale purple-y grey.

This is my new thing - if I buy expensive nail polish and use it, maybe it will keep me from biting my nails.  So far so good.
