Spares

Here's the QOTD.  What do you keep spares of in your purse?

I always have extra tampons in my purse.  AF came to visit today and I have no tampons in my purse.  I took them out on Sunday and packed them in my bag for camping.  Great!  Now I'm waiting for lunch time so I can go to Target and get a box.

Re: Spares

  • I used to always keep tampons in my purse, but I haven't needed them for like 6 years so at some point I threw those out.  I keep deodorant, Band-Aids, some kind of painkiller (ibuprofen, Aleve, Tylenol), and a mini pack of tissues in my purse at almost all times - but not when I'm carrying a small purse when I'm dressed up.  I also carry my makeup bag with extra powder, concealer, tweezers, a nail file and nail clippers in it and always have those with me.

I don't know if these things count as 'spares', really, but I have full-sized versions of these things at home that I use regularly, and the purse stuff is like an emergency back up.

  • I don't like to carry a monstrous bag, so I don't carry too much.  I have an extra set of glasses.  Not sure why, but I carry them.  I used to carry a buttload of tampons, but now that I use the diva, I don't.  Maybe I have two chapsticks, too...

  • I also used to carry extra pantyliners.  Sometimes I needed them when I didn't need the tampons (trying to word that delicately...)

If you want gross and offensive.....

a friend of mine had a roommate who used the Diva Cup, and she used to wash it and then leave it to dry in their dish rack.  Not something I want to see next to my cereal bowl.

Ick!   I think H would pack my bags and force me to move out if I did that!

  • Ha yeah, it's gross.  I have nothing against the Diva, but that is private business.

  • I definitely keep a spare pad / tampon / whatever in my bag whether it's my time of the month or now.  I also keep a painkiller (usually Advil and a tiny bottle of aspirin) and extras of all touch-up makeup supplies (powder compact, one of those stick spot concealer things, lip gloss, Clinique Almost lipstick).  I am one who likes to carry a large bag so I can usually fit a ton of stuff in there.

  • I carry extra makeup and tampons but I also carry a change of clothes for E. :-) I love summer because I get to carry shorts and a t instead of jeans and a sweater.
  • WHAT IN TARNATION IS A DIVA CUP!!!???

i feel like it is something i shouldnt be googling on my work computer...

  • I am also in the dark about a Diva Cup. I feel like it should be what you call the person of honor's cup at a party, but I feel like it is a menstrual cup. Which is not a party, ever.

As to the original question, I don't keep spares of anything in my bag, but I do keep a lot of crap in there.

Yep, it's a menstrual cup.  I wasn't sure about the idea at first, but now love mine.  And it's way more EF than throwing tampons down the toilet every month. :-)
