PSA: drowning doesn't look like drowning

One of the moms over on the multiples board had some close friends lose their 3 yr old little girl this weekend after she drowned in a pool. Someone posted this link and I thought I'd pass along the message.

  • How horrible & a great reminder for all of us as the warmer weather hits and we hang out more on the lakes.

  • Thanks for fixing Tarah - can you tell me how to do it? I actually went back to a different post to try and figure it out but it wasn't formatting right.. Sad

  • I know when I want to make a link open all I do is highlight it the "compose" box - the one you type your post in and in the menu above the text box an icon of a link appears.  Click on that - the box that pops up allows you to put whatever you want the highlighted text to link to - put in that link and then the drop down menu below that will allow you to select "open in a new window".

  • I was a lifeguard for a few years and still remember vividly watching a child walk deeper and deeper into the water until it was over his lips and his feet were no longer touching the bottom......no idea what his parents were doing.  So effing scary.  :(    (yes, I pulled him out)
  • Thanks for the article - the stats they included were quite startling.

  • That is scary, and a great article. We respond to a lot of drownings every year, especially at Kensington/Island Lakes. We had 3 last weekend that I know of.
  • Thanks for sharing! Great article. I'm going to be sharing with all of my friends. Scary stuff.
