Re: Morning All
OMG... the weekend...
Thursday night our house started getting infested with honeybees, so while Chris was on the phone with the exterminator, I was packing a bag for me and Sam to sleep over at my parents' house. The exterminator came Friday afternoon and sure enough they had started a hive in the exterior wall of our house. They sprayed and we haven't seen any since, but still.. ick.
Friday and Saturday were mostly spent cleaning for Sunday, but I had my intake appointment for therapy on Friday afternoon, so I feel like I'm finally taking a step in the right direction.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday -- we had about 30 people over, and a grand total of 17lbs of meat that was either smoked or grilled.... it wasn't called MeatMorial Day for nothing! Started at 9am with the smoking and running til about midnight, it was just epic. Hot because we couldn't use the AC and the smoker on the same circuit, but epic nonetheless.
And yesterday we cleaned.... er... Chris cleaned. I sat on the couch all day watching the Law & Order marathon.

Good morning!
I had a pretty great weekend. Friday I met up with two friends for drinks and dinner. they were meeting for the 1st time since we are doing the bike ride together in Sept. They hit it off like I knew they would.
Sat I went to a friend's BBQ.
Sun - mon, Dave and I went to visit some of my aunts and cousins in Maine. They are always a good time. We saw the Hangover 2. Dave and I stopped at the beach on the way home and walked around.
I would've sh!t my pants in horror. Glad you were able to get that taken care of quickly. At least they weren't wasps, I guess.
I couldn't get out of the house fast enough. My sister was over and she was the one the found the 3 in our living room window, so we hung out in the basement tv room for as long as we could until Chris got home. We were lucky he was able to get in touch with someone at 7pm, but yeah... they were trying to tell him they were just flying ants, and I was like - nuh uh - those are bees. So Sam and I hightailed it down the street and he stayed behind with Loki. I might have overracted but I don't care. I hate bees, and I'm definitely not going to leave my daughter behind with them.

Saturday we had about 50 people over through out the course of the day for a BBQ. Was pretty successful. No food left over! WOO.
Sunday - I didn't leave the couch all day - I forget how exhausting it is to host parties. Especially ones that go all day and have more children than adults.
Yesterday - I had breakfast with a friend...hoping she could help me out with some career advice - but I just left breakfast contemplating my whole entire future and I'm more confused than ever with what I want out of life.
Good morning!
We had a great weekend on Cape Cod with my family and H's family. Saturday night my parents had his family over for dinner, and we are so blessed that our families get along as well as they do! Lots of sunshine, beach time, yard sales and flea markets. All in all, a great start to the summer.
Mary, did you end up having to go see Hangover 2 with the IL's?
Friday I ran errands and then we grabbed some dinner and then went home and watched the Bruins game. It was pretty low key.
Saturday we went down to Providence, picked up Caserta's pizza and Mr. Lemon and went to see my mom who busted her knee and may have torn her meniscus. She was happy to have some company. Then we went to my best friend's 2 year old's birthday party which was a lot of fun. Her son is hysterical. That night we went to a local bar and watched karaoke and played pool with some friends.
Sunday we went to the gym and then go see a play in Boston, which was awesome and then had drinks and apps afterwards. It was nice to hang out in town, the weather was gorgeous.
Yesterday we did literally nothing. Jon went golfing, I stayed in my pajamas all day and watched bad TV. Midday we did some cleaning, but other than that, we just relaxed.
I hope she didn't. I heard it was terribly unfunny. Basically a repeat of the first one, but lacking all entertainment value.
I think I'm one of the only people who wasn't impressed with the first one...

Friday night I took Guy to see Primus in concert, which was a lot of fun. This grilled cheese truck was there:
And I had the bestest grilled cheese evar. It was called the Brie's Company, and it was brie (with the rind still on, mmmm), grilled apple, caramelized onions, and fig jam on sourdough. Delicious.
Saturday we went shopping and I got some good deals at ON.
Sunday we went to lunch at Red Lobster, thanks to a GC that my MIL sent for Guy's birthday. Guy ate a whole lobster, which was amusing to watch.
Monday, we played in the baby pool with Ellie, I cleaned house while she napped, and we had a very nice Memorial Day lunch of fried chicken, corn on the cob, and watermelon.
All in all, it was a lovely long weekend.
ugh I know how you feel! When I was about 8 or 9, my parents' house was infested with yellow jackets. They'd made a nest in a little nook in the exterior wal, and eventually broke through into the tv/toy room. UGH. I'm still terrified of yellow jackets to this day.
My weekend: Saturday we went to the beach and to a show (My One and Only, cute, very well done), Sunday we got in some unexpected bird watching on the beach (a flock of 75+ arctic brant geese were passing through on their way back north, I'd never even heard of this kind of bird before) and a terrible sunburn, and Monday we went to 3 CT wineries. It went by way too fast.
Friday: I took the day off b/c it was Day 1 of watching my parents' dogs. 4 dogs in a condo made for an interesting weekend. We went out to a sports bar to watch part of the hockey game but left at the end of the 2nd period b/c my feet were starting to hurt from standing. A few of DH's friends went into Boston to watch the game at a bar. One of them was extremely hammered and decided to "stop by" on his way home ( we live right near the train station). Needless to say, I wasn't too happy about being woken up around midnight to a knock on the door and a drunk person not understanding why J wouldn't let him in.
Sat: We went up to the outlets in Kittery, ME and scored some great deals on baby clothing. Our trip was cut short when our neighbor texted J to let him know that one of the dogs was freaking out.
Sun: We went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean in 3D. Not at all impressed.
Monday: Dogs were picked up early so we went to the beach for a few hours. After that, we did our normal weekly errands and some more sale shopping.
Dx: Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism After 2 years TTC & failed IUs,we have our IVF baby born 9/24/11
LO#2 aka 'Miracle Baby' Orig. EDD= 9/28 EDD moved to 10/3/13

We went up to WY to go camping - it was cold, rainy, and windy, and downright awful. Sunday morning I put my foot down and said we were going home. All the campfires and propane heaters can't make up fo rthe fact that it was SNOWING on us. Not fun camping.
So we came home, got cleaned up and unpacked, relaxed pretty much the rest of the weekend. Much nicer here in Denver than it was in WY.
I was not that impressed with the first one either, and I heard about all of the nudity jokes in the second one, so I put my foot down Friday and said we wouldn't be seeing it. We saw Pirates instead (which I thought was better than the last one) and then saw the Hangover after they left yesterday. It was the exact same movie, with some added humor about transsexuals. Not that impressive at all.
Stand up for something you believe in.
All I've heard about Hangover 2 is that it is a repeat of the first movie (which I thought was hilarious). They're not denying they basically remade the entire 1st movie. I guess knowing that, I dont see why people in general are making such a big deal of it. If you know that going in, you either see it or you dont.
Anyway, Saturday we spent painting. I will never buy Behr Paint and Primer in One ever again. Never. Jesse put the baby crib together that night and we moved all the furniture in. Of course that meant I had to put the bedding on and get out the few decorative things I had. Sunday we hung out in the morning, I worked on Olive's closet in the afternoon, we made dinner, and spent the night reading in bed. Yesterday I went shopping with a friend, cleaned the house, did laundry and enjoyed the A/C. It was 95 degrees here yesterday. Not fun at all.
We went to Gettysburg with my parents and sister. We stayed at the Brafferton Inn (the room was gorgeous!!!) Most of the day Friday was spent getting last minute packing done and driving out. Going through Cumberland, MD in a freakin' monsoon is no.fun.at.all.
We spent all day Saturday and Sunday doing the tourist stuff. Saturday was the visitor's center, museum, a quick spin around the battle field and a ghost tour. Sunday was the full on 6 hour excursion around the battlefield. Five adults smushed into a Chevy Equinox gets old after about 2 hours in 97 degree heat in the middle of a field. BUT the experience was totally worth it.
Sunday night I woke up at 3am with a fever, chills, and sweating to death. Took some Ibuprofen to try to break the fever. Didn't sleep at all between 3 and 8 when it was time to get up for breakfast (the Brafferton is a B&B and it was AH-mazing). Then we wandered around until 2pm for the Memorial Day parade. And spent 3.5 hours driving home. When I got home I found out that I was walking around Gettysburg all day with a 101 degree fever. Spent the night Monday sleeping on the couch. I did, however, wake up at 9pm to watch the Gettysburg documentary on the History Channel. What can I say? I'm a nerd, plain and simple.
Back to work today for 3 more days until summer vacation. And I still am trying to get rid of the fever.
