grrr...
So the whole Father's Day announcement idea was a bust. We invited everyone (our parents and siblings and their families) to the local zoo for a car show. My parents decided to be buttheads about it and Dad said he'd rather go fishing (alone) and Mom said she'd rather just stay home.
So we told his parents and brother (and his family) at dinner over the weekend. Then we stopped by his grandparents' place and told them when we were on our way home. We asked them to not tell anyone, as we hadn't told my family yet.
When we got back to town, we stopped by my parents' house and told them. I told Mom she could tell one of my aunts and one of her friends. Then I started calling all five of my siblings to tell them. Two of my brothers, I haven't been able to reach.
Then this morning, we start getting calls and texts and other messages from his side of the family. Apparently, his mom has been calling and telling ALL of the family.
She finally called me to apologize. She told me she assumed since we told my parents, it was okay to tell everyone.
My one remaining Grandma (all of my other grandparents have passed) doesn't know yet. GRRRRR.
I understand being excited, but this really wasn't her news to share. We hadn't given her permission to tell yet.
I am tempted to not announce the sex of the baby (if we find out) or if it happens to be multiples, I won't share that information with anyone.
Maybe it's just the hormones talking. Maybe I'm a passive-aggressive b!tch. I'm pretty upset over this though.

That stinks that it didn't all go to plan- but then again, nothing every really does.
I would be a little disappointed that my news was being announced for me. Now that it's said and done, I'd keep in my that she did it from excitement and from a good place in her heart. She didn't mean any harm. I'd tell her to zip it from now on, but try to understand that she was just excited.
And, as Hannah mentioned, get to those you haven't told yet that you want to know, since it seems to be travelling quickly.
