Apparently I need tons of help today! LOL!
We LOVE our current daycare provider and I wouldn't want to give her up. But the daycare, literally 4houses down and $5 more a week but its a preschool sort of in home also daycare also. We have friends that have taken their children there, and they love her as well! So we know shed be in good hands. My question is, do we switch her? We planned on moving her at age two to a center, this would be better. Would you do it?
Re: daycare help
I would, but that's because it sounds like the type of place we'll be attending. (We? Ella..) Obviously, an inhome daycare can't be a certified preschool, but if they are doing learning activities and focusing on educational topics, it would be completely worth it to switch for our family. Plus, the price increase isn't a buge burden by any means!
Could you ask the new daycare lady if she would mind if you and Ella stopped by for an unannounced visit? If you like what you see at the unannounced visit, ask if Ella could "test" the daycare one or two days.
My mom prefers that potential new clients stop by unannounced because then they really know what happens at daycare. (If you say you are stopping by at 10am, of course the kids are going to be all cleaned up, the best toys will be out, and they'll be doing a structed activity - all perfect.) Ella is old enough to give you an idea of what she thinks of the place too.
