Moms and Runners - A Question
How young is too young to run a 4 mile road race? I saw a tiny little girl (looking at the results, she was 6, but she must be barely 6, she was so little) running a race with her dad on Monday. And I mean running, not along for the ride in a jogging stroller. I was pretty much like this:
I know I was already swimming competitively at that age, but a 4 mile race in that heat seems like a lot for a kid that age. But, I'm barely a runner and not a mom, so I wondered if this was normal?
Re: Moms and Runners - A Question
I've seen this in races also but one time the kid actually came onto the course to run for a bit with their parent so they actually weren't racing but just joined them for a little bit - maybe this was the case?
If not....yikes....

She definitely ran the whole thing. The course looped around itself a lot, so I passed by her multiple times and saw her in the listed results.
There was a 1 mile fun run as part of it too, so I was surprised to see her in the 4 mile race. The 1 mile started after the 4 mile and was on a different course.
