Whatup, humpday

morning, ladies.  we are supposed to get some major storms here today.  and i left all the windows open and then cushions on the patio furniture.  stupid shaunette.

in other news, 3 months from this minute i will be on the beach in the keys with my man and lia and david :)

lastly, i threw a temper tantrum last night because i wanted ice cream and we drove to get it (this happens once a year maybe?) and they were CLOSED.  i was  6 years old, screamed, cried, and threw things.  and then pouted for 40 minutes. and then gerren ran away and i thought i had scared him into divorce and he came back with ben and jerry, the only two men i wanted to see at the moment. godsend, that man (g, not b or j)  :)

Re: Whatup, humpday

  • nice story!  sometimes things like that just happen!  Never underestimate the power of throwing a fit.

I'm alright.  tonight is a friend's b-day.  It's starting at her apt. then going to a bar and then another bar.  Just sent her a message saying I'll be at her apt. and that's probably it b/c I can't drink anyway and I am exhausted.  Have only told one of my friends that I'm KU and that was only b/c my friends were giving me a hard time about not going out for my b-day or this past weekend.  i'm sorry, I'm hormonal, been sick like a dog, and sleeping every chance I get.  Sorry if that doesn't fit into your plans.

can you tell i'm in a mood today?!?!  Wish i could drown myself in a pot of coffee.

In other news, it's sunny here today and gorgeous.  Yesterday was hot but windy as heck.  Might try and get out today at lunch and take a walk rather than trying to stay awake at my desk.

  • Shauni- I am so jealous! Of going to the keys...well and ice cream:) I think we will go the end of Sept for our 1 year/babymoon/last vacation of a family of 3 (yes I included the dog).

Moleson- I think I am also in a mood. I feel if someone looks at me the wrong way I might cry hysterically.

I'm glad this is a short week. I don't think I could take a full week. I am super sensitive this week.  I really want to go see Hangover 2 but Greg is working all day everyday so I don't know when we will get to see it or me really himCrying

    I'm done complaining

  • J'adore Key West.

Today is my Thursday. I should be busy today and tomorrow too, so hopefully it flies!!!

It's supposed to be 80 and sunny at the shore. Yeeeee haw. Sign me up and buy me a new OC sweatshirt!!!!

Today I seem to prefer exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What?

Last night I went to the library to pick up some books, then went home and grilled for the very first time! Yay!  Everything turned out well. That was on my to do list this summer and it's dunzo. I am going to set forth and grill every meat known to man. Tally ho.

We ate and talked, then I cleaned up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher. I also packed most of my toiletries for this weekend, then got into bed and finished my book.

I had to drive in this morning since I have a Relay meeting tonight. It's going to be one zillion degrees and I did not freaking feel like walking a mile from the subway to get to my meeting with a backpack. Plus I need to pick up my missing toiletries at the store on the way home so I'm set for this weekend.

  • Sorry you're having a rough go with your friends Mary. However, if they don't know you're PG, cut them a little slack! They just want to see you and hang out with you. It will be better when it all comes out.

  • Xtine, save your cash. The Hangover 2 was not even 1/4 as funny as the first one.

  • I am emptyhanded and wearing shame face on the blog front. Maybe this weekend, a beach kickoff?

I am starving already, even after my raisin bran. I'd like a caprese salad.

  • Morning all.  Body hurts in oh so many ways.  Burned my fat arse to a crisp in the tanning bed last night.  Promised DH I would stop tanning.  I have 15 days left.  Will be cooking every day until the end.

Also went for a run last night.  My first outside in the new shoes.  Had some intense calf pain that led to more walking than running.  Still went almost 3 miles.  Got home and googled.  Turns out, wearing high heels before running can cause calf pain.  Who knew?  They (my calves) are still angry w/ me and I'm not wearing good shoes today either.  Fashion or comfort?  I will pick fashion for a few more years.  Then I'll move on to some orthopedic shoes.

Back to eating well, Vegas is in THREE weeks, yikes!  Bought some hooker tops last night in addition to some Teva flip flops and a swimsuit cover up.  (FYI, walking around the mall did nothing to improve my calf pain.  Big dumb animal sometimes.)

Shauni-I throw tantrums too and DH always comes to the rescue.  We picked good men :)  Glad you got your b&j

Steph-what meat did u grill last night?

Moleson & Xtine-sorry for the moods.  God forbid I ever get KU, I'd be choking biitches alllllll day....

  • Good Morning!

I am attempting to get up and become productive today, but my body is not working with me. Today I am a slave to my kitchen. Baking up a storm for our Relay for Life fundraiser bake sale that we are doing tomorrow. I have no idea how much is actually going to be needed though. I hope to do a pan or two of bars, chocolate sugar cookies, and four kinds of cupcakes.

Also can't forget the run. The humidity lessened yesterday after about 10 minutes of a torrential downpour and made it a lot more comfortable.

Shauni how is half training going?

  • Bake it up EB! Great cause! I'd buy some if I was there.

Misty, I played it safe last night with hotdogs, hamburgers and turkey burgers. For my next foray on the grill, I will branch out into chicken drumsticks.

  • It's supposed to cool down a little after storms tonight, so I'm really happy about that.  I have a meeting with someone who is a complete moron that doesn't understand science, or English really, and that is NOT so exciting.  Even worse is that I think the meeting is pointless and unnecessary, but my boss has been pushing for it because he's delusional - I was hoping he'd forget if I put it off, but no dice.

Also, we have someone working here for the summer and she's sitting at the desk behind me.  I know this makes me a whiny baby, but I'm bummed not to have the extra chair to put all my crap on and the extra space to spread out, plus I feel like I have no privacy.  I realize that it makes sense to put her there, but I didn't know she was starting today and I wish I'd had some warning.

  • Im exhausted. Long weekends aren't good for work weeks.

I was late to work today which always puts me in a horrible mood.

We have softball tonight and I have to get out and run again. I didn't all weekend while we were gone and did last night and I really think I hate running. Brew~I discovered last week that heels and running are bad ideas, I also don't care and will continue to be cute :-)

E is starting swimming/water days at school and yes my 3yo still fits into her 18month 2 piece suit. skinny butt anyways.

I went to the dr today. I have to be super duper healthy from now on as Im pre-diabetic and have some potential issues with my thyroid...oh joy.

  • I'm so tired today too.  On cup one of my morning coffee.  I had a really weird dream last night.  It involved zombies in Hawaii.  I killed one zombie by stabbing him with a sharp object through the head, because you're supposed to aim for the brain.  I was then going to fly back home to Cali and I missed my plane because I was buying souveniers.  It was very strange.

We have the final cleanup to do in our place, so it is going to be a long night.

Shauni, I answered in the other post.  I read it before I came in here.

Brew - DO IT!  I <3 mine so much.  There are TONS of posts about it on the green living board, too if you want more reasons to do it. :-)

  • I'm finally back to work after a week and a few days at a conference, and then a trip home to IN.  I'm not thrilled to be back here.  I have SO much to do and so little motivation to do it.  I'm sick of the culture around here and everyone being so resistant to new ideas and change.

The weather here is disgustingly hot, and I'm now thinking about throwing a fit for ice cream. :-)

Yay, have fun Kaz!  We'd planned to do our France trip in May but had to move it up to March, when the weather wasn't as nice.  Where all will you go in the Riviera?

TN ate my morning post, which is probably good because I was just whining about DH getting me sick (maybe, have a sore throat) and not fitting into my clothes.

I'll focus on the happy stuff instead:  Get to stay with my parents tonight and visit, because I have to work near them tomorrow.  MH and I picked our hardwood, and need to go order it soon and schedule the install.  My parents agreed to help us install a pergola at our house, and my BFF's hubby will design it for us.  This should save us over $1k based on the estimate we just got.  I'm going maternity clothes (and baby room chair!) shopping on Saturday with my mom.

  • Mush- We're staying at the Hotel Welcome in Villefranche sur mer. I am in charge of the planning while we're in Paris and Sam is doing the planning in the SOF, so I'm not totally sure of what we're doing. Definitely Nice, Monaco and Cap Ferrat.

    Any advice?

Did you mean this last March or next March?

  • mushEmushE member
    Fourth Anniversary

Kaz, we went this past March.  Fun!  Paris was fabulous, of course, but I'm sure you know all there is to do there.  SOF is a bit harder, because some of it is so spendy that it's hard to get normal person recommendations for stuff to do.

We did Paris, then train to Marseille, rental car to Aix en Provence that night.  Just an overnight, then drove through a bunch of the small towns on our way to Nice that night.  Had 3 nights in Nice, but turned in the rental car early because it was a biitch to drive in Nice, and very expensive to park.

One thing we really liked was the little town of Eze, very near Nice and all that.  We took a day trip to Eze and Monaco before turning the car in.  You park in Eze and walk up and around, and it was just pretty and nice.  There's this garden thing you pay to walk through, and shops and restaurants built into this medieval rock wall.

I'll look it up on our Google Doc at home tonight (can't at work), but there was another town we really liked stopping in.  H's friend is married to a French guy, and she lived there for about 10 years, and recommended it.  If we'd had more time, she said it's a great place to take a boat ride, like a half-day trip or something.

  • Hey guys! This is late but I was busy at work getting caught up from my day off yesterday.  Work was just alright, happy to be home now though.

Walked out of work to the most ominous sky I have ever seen.  Come to find out we have been under tornado warnings in MASS for most of the afternoon and evening.  Nothing major at all happened around H's and my house, but closer to my parents and out in Springfield had tornado touchdowns and a ton of damage!  I can barely believe my eyes and ears watching the news right now.  It's CRAZY that this is happening in Mass of all places.

Been still talking to the breeder I found about a pup.  She has a litter planned (not even conceived yet, but soon) and a gestation period for a dog is 9 weeks followed by 8 more weeks until the puppy can leave the mother.  So, we're talking about a late fall puppy which would give H some more time to get used to the idea.  Another of the breeder's friends has a some just-born puppies available in 7 weeks which was WAY too soon for H and he balked.  I know this was part of the problem.  With more time to plan for it, he seems to be coming around =).  With this breeder I know she's really great about sending pics and updates about the mother and puppies on the way.  We missed that experience with the last litter we were interested in because of previous interest we weren't guaranteed anything.  This time she says she'd give us first priority so it'll be different.  Hoping it works out!!
