Do you salt your watermelon? Poll inside
H and I were eating watermelon, and I was telling him how I salted my watermelon as a kid, and asked if he did as well. He thought it was crazy, had never heard of it, asked me what else us Southerners salted (I'm from NC originally), and said that he wasn't surprised considering my sister eats salt as a snack (she really does).
So, have you heard of such a thing, or do you salt your watermelon?

I've heard of it but it sounds unappealing to me. My Dad salts cantaloupe and his sister salts her beer. My Dad and my sister both eat the core of cabbage with salt on it.
My Dad's Canadian, though - decidedly not Southern.
LOL, now THAT seems odd :P
