Dumb rant

Ok, I know how incredibly dumb this post is, but I just need to get it out.  I am planning a vacation next month back to Milwaukee with dh. He's not working yet and his best friend is coming in from Japan (Air Force) so DH is leaving several days ahead of me and driving.  I'll fly out several days later once I'm off work.  We'll drive back together.  It all makes perfect sense.

Well, I can't find a flight that I like and it's making me unreasonably upset. At first I was going to book one that got in at 11am.  DH said he didn't want that because he's going to be at a baseball game at 1pm and that wouldn't give him time to pick me up and get to the game when he wants to.  He wants me to take one that gets in at 8pm.  I feel like that's a waste of a whole vacation day. Well now the 11 am one is $40 more.  I could do a megabus trip that gets in at 1pm and try to ask one of my friends to come get me.  It would save a ton of money over the evening flight and I get in earlier, but it's a 6 hour trip instead of one hour.  I'm kind of leaning towards the megabus even though dh thinks it's a waste of time.  I just know I wouldn't get anything fun or productive done in the morning of a late flight because of the way I am with travel; I'd be focused on the trip and not relaxed.

Anyway, I'm just bummed and angry and I don;'t really know why. Sigh.  I better buy something soon before all the prices are through the roof and we have to take two cars both ways!

Re: Dumb rant

  • After arriving at 11am, could you take a cab to your hotel and then to wherever you want to go?  You could even meet him at the game, if you wanted to, although you'd probably want to drop your luggage off before doing that.

  • I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place now that you say it. It's a good idea. I think I'm mostly irritated that he's getting 3 to 4 days more "vacation" than me because he doesn't have a job, and that he doesn't really seem to care what I feel like doing on my week of time off.  I'm already pretty irritated that he's spending 3 or 4 hours a day playing video games when I can barely find time to watch my two tv shows a week.

I know I'm being childish and it won't get either of us anywhere, I think I'm going to ignore his suggestions and do what I feel like and let him do his own thing.  (I'm not meeting him at the game though, That's al eady his thing to begin with!)  I won't even really have luggage because I can send most of it ahead with him in the car and get it that night or the next morning even. Sounds like it could make for a nice girls night out!

I would do this too. The other options don't really make sense if you're only going to be there a couple days.

  • Make sure you check Airtran and Frontier too for flying into MKE. You might find a better price that way.
