What is your favorite summer veggie? do you eat it raw? prepare it a certain way?
Re: QOTD
MMM, agree w/ Laura. I actually only eat corn on the cob during summertime.
Close second is sugar snap peas. Raw w/ some ranch, yummers!
I love almost all summer veggies.
Zucchini is fantastic raw, cooked, stuffed, or baked into bread or cake. That is until you have so many that you can't keep up with them.
Love sugar snap peas, corn, and carrots too.
Corn on the cob, in since the season for local corn in New England was so short growing up we would eat it like 3 times a week.
Zucchini grilled is also yummy
Corn on the cob for me too. It makes me think of the IN State Fair when I was a kid. :-) I also love cucumbers and onions.

Jessie - when we vacationed in Montana, we ate corn on the cob every day for at least one meal, usually two. We bought so much produce from roadside stands, it was AWESOME - including lots of fresh berries and cherries!
I think one of the reasons I love corn on the cob is because I couldn't eat it for four years, when I had braces. It's like I'm making up for lost time.
corn on the cob for sure! I also really like eggplant, usually have it as eggplant fries though.
that is like vt--my parents had a garden that was probably 1/2 acre as i grew up. now they don't as they are disabled, but there are farm stands EVERYWHERE. and we live in a little condo and i still grow at least herbs and tomatoes
also, my family grew SO much corn growing up--we would eat maybe 2-3 ears of corn per dinner from july-oct. and on my dads birthday every year we would have a corn eating contest and see who could eat the most
laura--i had braces growing up too, just cut my corn off and ate the hell out of it!

oh, I totally did that, but I missed the experience of chomping it right off the cob!
I love fresh local Jersey corn on the cob slathered with butter and salt, no nutritional value whatsoever.
I also love Jersey tomatoes sliced with a little bit of salt.
Mmm, corn on the cob. Count me in! I also love zucchini and green beans.
This reminds me of one of my dad's favorite stories about my childhood. Dentist removed 8 front teeth (4 up, 4 down) because they hadn't fallen out naturally. On the day before Halloween. Over a year later, and my teeth hadn't come in, because they weren't ready.
Anyway, we were having a nice summer dinner, all chomping on corn on the cob, and my dad looked over and said, Mush, how do you eat that, with no front teeth? I was like, It's pretty hard!
After that he always cut it off for me; it had just never occurred to them that it might be tough for me.
