Cherry Picking??

We've been talking about taking our kids cherry picking for a while but have never done it. Anyone been and have a place they recommend?

Re: Cherry Picking??

  • Haven't done cherry picking but did peaches years ago. Not sure where you are in California but this past weekend U-pick farms opened up in Brentwood & Oakley (which is my neck of the woods), if you click here http://www.harvest4you.com/

you will see which farms are open and hours. Right now cherries, pluots, strawberries (which were excellent tasting, btw), apricots are available. I drove by some of the places over the weekend and I think cherries are $2/lb to pick. Just be prepared for lots of people though.

  • Where are you at? There's a place out in Gilroy that has cherries right now to pick. You can also go to Santa Cruz area for Ollaliberries (I'm going at the end of the month!) and strawberries.
