Re: BOTB
Well not really, just found out a few weeks ago that I can't procreate naturally (my hormone levels are really high and is tricking my ovaries into thinking they are older than my real age) but am healthy enough to carry a pregnancy. So our options are either IUI or IVF. Hoping it's IUI (& of course it works for us)since IVF is expensive. Waiting on DH to get his SA done so we can figure out our next steps.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour? I passed the one hour test with no problems. The drink wasn't too bad, but the lab screwed up and had me drink the crap twice which made me vomit (the only time I got sick the whole pregnancy!).
3rd trimester: If your baby was breech at any point, did they turn? At what point did they turn? Did you need to intervene to get the baby to turn, and if so, what method did you use? Did it work? She was breech until about week 35 when she turned on her own.
L&D: Did you try any non-medicinal induction methods, like nipple stim, preggo pizza, castor oil, or visualization? I tried walking, sex, preggo pizza twice, a lot of spicy food and nothing worked. Maybe if her cord wasn't wrapped around her neck three times one of these methods would have been successful.
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it? We have a Beco Butterfly but have yet to use it. It was highly recommended by friends and online reviews.
Updates: Rosie had her two week checkup yesterday and she has already gained one pound more than her birth weight and two inches. I think she was meant to be larger at birth!
TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship? It made our relationship stronger. We focused on communicating and supporting each other, as well as doing some things that we knew we wouldn't have the opportunity to do as often once we had a baby.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off? I never had EWCM- we used Pre-Seed instead.
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour? I failed the 1-hour test, but passed the 3-hour test.
3rd trimester: If your baby was breech at any point, did they turn? At what point did they turn? Did you need to intervene to get the baby to turn, and if so, what method did you use? Did it work? N/A
L&D: Did you try any non-medicinal induction methods, like nipple stim, preggo pizza, castor oil, or visualization? I had my membranes stripped by my doctor the day before my due date. Then I did a lot of walking... but I'm pretty sure the membrane stripping was enough encouragement for my body.
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it? Oh yes... we have a Moby-like wrap that I wear Baby H in for all of her daytime naps. I'm reaching the point of wishing she could nap out of it, but so far I haven't had luck with that. I love the wrap because it's snug (Baby is practically swaddled against me), but there's a learning curve to using it, for sure. We also have the Ergo, and I'm hoping we'll use that more as Baby gets bigger. The Ergo is nice because it's so quick to put on and it's very lightweight.
Updates: My hair is falling out and I've started my period again (kind of)... the joys of postpartum recovery continue!

TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship? I don't think so. 1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off? I don't recall.2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour? I did mine today. I had the choice between lemon and orange drink. The lemon was pretty tasty...like a slightly flat Sprite with a little extra sugar. Not bad. I won't have results for a couple days though. I really don't want to take the 3 hour so my fingers are crossed.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off?Not that I recall, but I wasn't really tracking that.
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour?I failed the 1hr both times and passed the 3hr both times.
3rd trimester: If your baby was breech at any point, did they turn? At what point did they turn? Did you need to intervene to get the baby to turn, and if so, what method did you use? Did it work?N/A
L&D: Did you try any non-medicinal induction methods, like nipple stim, preggo pizza, castor oil, or visualization?Nope.
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it?We have a Becco, and Ergo and a Moby. I wasn't super comfortable with the moby with DS1, but this time I really want to work harder at getting it to work for us. I like the Ergo over the Becco, only because for me it's easier to get DS in/out of the ergo. I would recommend both.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off? I can't remember
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? I went into the lab, gulped down the disgusting drink and felt super nauseous for the rest of the day Did you pass the 1-hr test? Yes, thank goodness!
3rd trimester: If your baby was breech at any point, did they turn? At what point did they turn? Did you need to intervene to get the baby to turn, and if so, what method did you use? Did it work?N/A
L&D: Did you try any non-medicinal induction methods, like nipple stim, preggo pizza, castor oil, or visualization? Wasn't needed, R was born 2 weeks early. I was ready to try them all as soon as I hit my due week though, I really wanted a May baby!
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it? We have a Moby Wrap, an Ergo carrier and a Petunia Pickle Bottom sling. I'm not a fan of the sling. Both the moby and the ergo have been great. I thought the Moby would be hard to put on by myself but it isn't at all. R really likes it and I like that I'm able to get things like laundry done while holding him. My H has used the Ergo with the infant insert a few times and likes that also.
Updates: We made it through the first 2 weeks! I was not prepared for how emotionally draining they would be, I'm sure the lack of sleep doesn't help. I'm really grateful to have such a good support group in my H and family, I think that period would have been a lot harder without them. I have a whole new respect for single Moms.
TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship?
Not really that I noticed, I think things are different now that I am pregnant more so then in the TTC stage.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off?
I didn't notice it until well after I had already got my BFP, and even then it was minimal. From O to the BFP my CM was just super creamy, like it was every other cycle.
Updates: I have my first appointment on Friday and I am very excited. Nausea kicked in yesterday so I'm hoping that is a good sign. Please add me to the list, my EDD is Jan. 25, 2012!
TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship? I think DH would say that I was militant about the timing of things since I was charting. But at the end of the day, it brought us closer and opened up a lot more communication between us.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off? No, not that I recall.
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour? I passed the 1 hour test. No problems.
No, we never got to that point. We were induced 2 days before our due date. I was thinking of trying stuff once we were officially overdue.
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it? I am addicted to baby carriers. I have the Moby-my favorite one, totally recommend. Takes some practice at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's good. DH hasn't figured out how to tie it yet. Baby Bjorn-easy to put on, but it hurts our backs. DH likes the ease of putting it on, but the weight sits mostly on our backs/shoulders. So, I only wear it when I am running a quick errand. I recently got a mei tai, which DS doesn't seem to like. Not sure if it's b/c his legs are spread a bit wider. He falls asleep in it fine, but when I take him out, he tends to cry. I am hoping that he likes it better when he is a bit older...
Updates: We have an appointment with the US Consulate tomorrow afternoon to register his birth abroad, get his SS#, and his US passport. I am excited to have a little kiwi American dual citizen!
TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship? It's definitely been a learning experience. We've each had times where we've been frustrated as individuals, but overall we've grown closer in a lot of ways.
If I can manage not to stress myself out too much in the coming weeks, we'll get one more chance to try before we separate for 8 months. I'm really reeeaallly trying not to think about it or get my hopes up in any way, but who am I kidding- I basically am. *sigh*
TTC: Has the ttc process changed you or your relationship? Partially. It just so happened that our TTC process has occurred at the same time as an extremely stressful legal issue is culminating. It's opened up communications in one way--I can't keep my feelings bottled up or I will explode in completely inappropriate ways. It's also been very frustrating, and sometimes I feel I can't express my frustration to DH because of the legal issue (since he is very stressed out by that). He's supportive (especially during the miscarriages) but I hate to even mention getting pregnant right now. So I just continue charting, doing my research and waiting to try again in August.
1st trimester: Did you have EWCM after ovulation/implantation? If you did, did you think your chart was off? n/a
2nd trimester: What was your experience with the GD tests? Did you pass the 1-hr test? If you failed, did you pass the 3-hour? I went to the lab before an appt with my OB, drank the drink (fruit punch flavored...not bad), and then went upstairs to my appt. After the quick appt., I went back down to the lab...was easy peasy especially since I didn't have to sit there and wait for an hour. I passed no problem.
3rd trimester: If your baby was breech at any point, did they turn? At what point did they turn? Did you need to intervene to get the baby to turn, and if so, what method did you use? Did it work? J was delivered by scheduled c-section because he was breech. We found out at 35 weeks and I did a lot of downward facing dog and hanging out on all fours with my exercise ball. I used some of the methods found on spinningbabies.com, but nothing worked. I think he'd been in that position for a looong time. We also attempted the version at 38 weeks, which was painful and super uncomfortable. I don't think I would do that again if I had another breech baby.
L&D: Did you try any non-medicinal induction methods, like nipple stim, preggo pizza, castor oil, or visualization? Never got there
First days If you have a baby carrier, what kind(s) of you have? What do you like or dislike about it? Would you recommend it? I loooved our Moby wrap in the beginning. I too thought it was going to be a pain to get on and off, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Now, we use the Ergo when we're out and about. I've started using it instead of carrying his infant seat because it's getting heavy!
