Remembering your daily mantra

I'm trying to keep reminding myself that for all the frustration I'm dealing with right now, to not get bothered because there is light at the end of the tunnel.

How do you keep your daily mantra in the forefront of your mind? I need some suggestions please!!

Re: Remembering your daily mantra

  • I've been dwelling on this idea now for a couple of days, for myself, and just yesterday wrote something to my SIL on her FB - so I'll share what I sent to her:

Don't forget what the Bible says: This too shall pass! What an encouragement to know that, no matter what is going on *right now* it.will.pass. Everything, good or bad, will pass. Why? Because our lives are constantly moving - God did not design us to be stagnant - our life ticks by every day - moving us onward regardless of how good or bad our day is. Even if you wanted it to stay exactly as it is right now, it wouldn't - we are always moving onward. Starting anew happens everyday for you - it's a gift from God to allow us the opportunity to refresh ourselves on a daily basis. Transform your mind and you'll transform your life - moving away doesn't ever fix problems - they will follow you regardless of where you try to hide - keep your chin up and know that, with God, you are strong enough to handle it. When you do that, you will overcome whatever stands in your way of happiness.

I hope this helps in some sense. I always encourage people, if they aren't spiritual in nature that they believe in God, that they take what I say and reinterpret it to fit their personal spiritual feelings. :)

  • There is a poem called "Desiderata" by Max Ehrmann that is the best mantra ever, IMO. It's long, but it's basically telling you to be a good person, understand that difficulty will come as well as joy, etc. etc. I have it taped to the wall right beside my computer at work and I read it whenever things are driving me insane.

I couldn't agree more Rachel - it's one of the BEST poems ever.

    I agree that's a good one!

I also just try to remember that someone, somewhere, is carrying a larger, heavier cross than I am.  "If everyone threw their problems into a big pile, you would take yours back" (or something like that...)

I'm totally stealing this and putting it on my facebook right now!
