I'm not sure if you've already said or not, but how's the progress on the house coming? Have you been able to close yet? Did you get all moved in over the weekend?

Thanks for asking Xan! We haven't closed yet, and probably won't for awhile as the seller has to jump through a bunch of hoops to register his LLC (which holds the title on the house) in NY state. We did get early occupancy on Friday, so we started moving a few things over from my parents' house/garage (my parents live 3 miles away, so it is convenient to run over and get a car load of boxes when I need them.
The seller gave us permission to rip up the carpet and refinish hardwood floors and to scrape off popcorn ceilings. I think we overdid it this weekend as we were super sore for a few days. We ripped up the carpet in the living room, dining room, and one bedroom. Boy that was a lot of work. I seriously pulled out at least 1000 staples that were from the carpet pad. We didn't even get to the staples in the bedroom yet. Still have 2 more bedrooms and the hallway to do. The floors are in pretty good shape. We think we may pay to have the LR and DR refinished and then do the bedrooms and hallway ourselves.
I have the kitchen mostly unpacked (I am excited to use our new dishes and other gadgets from the wedding that I never moved to MI). We've been sleeping on an air mattress until we move our bed over. We have the sun room setup with a bunch of stuff since we won't be doing any work on it for awhile. We have a little table and chairs, a papasan chair, and our desks set up there so we have a place to eat, work, and relax until we finish the floors and ceilings in the rest of the house.
I took a bunch of pictures on my camera, and once I find the cord I'll upload and post some.
Trip to Prague & bring home furbaby when we get back
