Happy Hump Day!

How is everyone today?

I managed to survive baseball, if only barely.  The trouble with having a 6:30 game is that I have to wolf down dinner and run out the door.  Fried eggs + 100?F+ weather =/= a nicely settled stomach.  I felt queasy for most of the first game.

We absolutely had our asses handed to us last night.  In 2 one hour games we got 3 runs (2 off of an in-the-park homer that Derek got).  Pitiful.  My batting sucked too, but the "coach" and his wife stayed after to give me some tips and throw me some balls.  Wow, so much better.  Apparently if you keep you eye on the ball you're much more likely to hit it.  Ha.

In other news, I've got nothin'.  Ha.

Re: Happy Hump Day!

  • Good morning.  I got up and worked out this morning so feeling good about that.  Unfortunately, I had a team lunch and I am now so ridiculously full that I think I negated the workout.  Oh well.

I'm excited because it looks like we got some tickets to the Olympics next year!  They've just taken the money out of our account, so no confirmation of which events yet, but looks like we got 3 events (I just hope there are no duplicates, since we were sneaky and filed two applications).  I can't wait to find out which ones we got!

  • Raynes-That is funny. I wish Jordan would realize that if he would swing the bat all the way around the ball would go further.

Nothing exciting today. A friend of mine had her baby yesterday and I am so excited and ready to see him on Saturday. My sister has been spending the night with us a good bit this summer since she is watching Jordan about 2 days a week. Its easier for her just to stay so no one has to get up early and they can both sleep in. Jordan has bunk beds and one of the mattresses was my mattress when I had the same bunk beds at age 8. Yes I know that is horrible. I am going to the local furniture store and getting a new mattress today.

  • Morning everyone.

Sushi, that's awesome about Olympic tickets.

Not too much is going on here on my end.  I've been working a ton and just trying to rest and relax when I can.  I'm just happy it's already Wednesday and the weekend isn't too far away.

Yay!  Our friend got some too!  If any of them are duplicates, let me know! I didn't even think about buying any at the time, but then H was pretty sad when he realized we missed the deadline.

Nothing exciting here.  It just started pouring and I'm regretting not wearing boots in case I have to leave the office at any point today. H was able to come home last night but I had to work late-ish and we didn't end up seeing each other until after 7:30. I was in bed by 10:30 since I've also been having to get into work extra early this week.  So I only got to see him for a few hours :(  But it was still better than nothing.  I don't think I'll see him for at least another week or more.

  • Good Morning Everbody,

Sushi, how cool that you got Olympic tickets! You'll have to let us know the events when you get them.

Raynes, I am absolutely horrible when it comes to baseball. I think it is awesome that you are on a team and getting better, good on you.

The last few days have been exhausting, Tuesdays are always crazy for me, so I am hoping that today I will be able to relax some. I am planning to get some gym time in after work before heading to my IL's place. So looking forward to the weekend, it is supposed to be +26 degrees here (79 degrees Fahrenheit). Today is DH first day of work, I am pretty excited for him. Even though this is really just a summer internship this is his dream job so I am hoping that once he graduates next year he will be able to get it.

  • Good morning! I am so excited that it's Wednesday already. My neck is doing much better today and I was able to get some good sleep last night. I'm hopeful that by the time I get off work it will be good enough to workout. Because I was out of town over the weekend I haven't gotten in a good workout since last Thursday.
  • Morning, all! Another day of playing the waiting game over here. It's been 11 days since my good news and I can't make a single move yet because of procedure. Argh. So frustrating, especially when things here still manage to drive me batty. Here's hoping for today . . . ?

Last night was good--after a very hot walk home, it was nice to walk into air conditioned apartment! I managed to get myself to the gym while H made dinner--he's having a cortisone shot today for his shoulder, so lifting was out last night for him. After that, just some reading and writing to round out the evening.

Today's an off day for the gym and H will be home late, so I'm on my own tonight for a while. Cereal for dinner it is, mwahahaha . . .

    Have a great day, ladies!

  • I'm not sure how this week got so out of control.  Monday was a holiday and I took yesterday off after getting back in to town in the morning.  Turns out that was a bad idea, because the mattress people are coming this afternoon so I have to leave work at 1:00 to go meet them and I'll be out Friday morning for our last IUI.  Altogether, I think I am working 2 days this week.  Gaaggh!

  • Good Morning!

DH had a softball game last night so I was there. It was windy and chilly so it was a pretty long 2 hours but it's always fun to watch him play.

Today, I have to take my ring in, I think a prong is loose. Something doesn't look right and then I am heading to the grocery store after work.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • Good Morning!

Last night was pretty uneventful, I went for a walk, made dinner, and watched 16 & Pregnant.

I have a ton of beginning of the month work to get done and I have zero motivation to do it. Ugh! Tonight we're having a painter come over and give us an estimate for the exterior of our house since we've now received two nasty grams from the HOA telling us we need to get it done ASAP - I'm really starting to hate our HOA!

  • Good Morning Ladies!

Nothing to exciting here. I am anxious to get out of here today to see DH.  I don't think I like him working nights.  I have seen him maybe 10 minutes in the past 3 days.  Glad he will be home tonight.

Otherwise its the start of a new month.  Taking my break from Nesting/Bumping so much at work is paying off.  My file counts for last month were back at what they used to be. So I'm off to start the new month off great.

  • Good morning. I woke up with the faintest little voice and my throat all swollen. Sick is the last thing I need to be right now.

Last night the painter came and put up samples of all our colors. I really like them. DH thinks the guest bedroom is a little too bright of a yellow, but admitted he rarely goes in there. So we should have a fully painted house in two weeks!

  • Sushi that is awesome about the tickets! I can't wait to hear what you got.

Raynes. I miss playing baseball. I played for 8 years. I had so much fun.

I am feeling energized. I got up the past two mornings and worked out. I feel like it is better to get up early then come home and work out.

  • Good morning, ladies

Your baseball games sound like fun, raynes.  Our parks & rec department has competitive and recreational dodgeball leagues.  Dodgeball!  I want to play so badly, but DH won't go for it. Boo.

Muenster went in today for neutering.  Poor little guy.  This has been a rough year for vet bills, with Nala's knee surgery, Cheddar's run-in with a car, and now Muenster's shots and surgery.  I'm hoping the rest of the year is smooth sailing for all the animals.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • I wish my morning started off well. I was supposed to go to the OB today for a normal checkup. I had to reschedule so I could take the dog to the vet for an emergency visit. She has a bloody nose that wouldn't stop, no matter what we tried. Now she's there all day for observation, and they're running tests to try and figure out the cause. So far they know that she has a slight positive for lyme disease (so glad I use tick medication every month that costs a fortune..not) and they said her platelet count is low to almost non-existent. She still has pink gums, so her blood is still plentiful enough for no blood transfusions. Just waiting for another call once the new round of tests is all run, and then we'll have to figure out what to do with her tonight, depending on what everything says. They're also checking her chest and a lump in her mouth for cancer. Not the word I wanted to hear this morning.

Otherwise, my boss is out of work for the week and we have pretty much nothing going on, so it should be smoothe sailing to the weekend, outside of worrying about my dog.

  • Hey ladies!  I had a great night last night and a good day so far today.  Last night Ed and I went out for dinner and it was trivia night at the restaurant, so we got roped in.  We actually did pretty well...we came in second and won one round and got free t-shirts.  Now we have to go back sometime with friends...

Today was a pretty good day at school--my kids are trying their hands at writing sonnets.  They're pretty awful right now, but they are at least understanding the rhyme scheme.  Also, I am reading aloud my best friend's new book to my kids right now and one of my struggling kids came up to me after and said, "I really like how she uses onomatopoeia in the book"....(and I hadn't said anything about it while I was reading...)YAY for making connections to what we've learned in class!

Then I left school early for my first dr. appointment.  I updated where MO paged me, but everything looks good!  Then I came home and got in a three mile run/walk and just finished a green monster smoothie which will hopefully help me be full enough that I won't get sick waiting for Ed to get home for dinner.

  • Today was a hectic day at work.  We had a few staff meetings about the increasing workload but decreasing amount of staff.  We're hoping this issue gets solved pretty soon, I had to put in another1.25 hours of over time today.

We've got someone coming over tonight to look at the house.  Fingers crossed.  Not sure what we're going to go and do for an hour.  Ice cream?
