Graphic Designers and or small business question
Hey all,
I am going all in with my freelancing and have a number of clients but I would like to keep it moving. Any suggestions to keep the wheels turning to keep me busy. It seems now it is just all word of mouth and I use social media but I guess this applies to all small businesses how do I pump up the volume?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Graphic Designers and or small business question
Have you asked for the referral?
Don't be afraid to ASK for it at the conclusion of a project. "Thanks, Sally, for working with me on this project. I hope you will keep me in mind for future work. Please also refer me to your friends that need design as well."
And every once in awhile, reward those clients that do bring the referrals with a note or gift to say thank you.
Are there any local newspapers or magazines that would accept articles written by you, that also feature examples of your work? If so, this is a great way to advertise for free.
Also (I'm assuming you're a graphic designer) have you considered doing free work for not-for-profit organizations and charity events? For instance, if you were to help them with advertising or presentations for free - they would give you credit & "special thanks"...another way to advertise cheaply & keep you busy.
