Making a slideshow

I'd like to make a slideshow for both K's 1st birthday party and my sister's graduation.

I've never done one before.  I figure that we'll just have it play on our laptop on a loop to music and people can look at it when they want.

What is the best program to do this?  I have Powerpoint on our computer.  I tried make a few slides each with a picture, but the pictures were coming up bigger than the slides so when I viewed the slideshow I was only getting a portion of the picture.

Help from anyone, please!

I have time to make these slideshows as the parties aren't until the end of June, but having to make 2 I don't want to procrastinate.  Especially since I have to scan all my sisters pictures that aren't digital.

Re: Making a slideshow

  • I was going to suggest PowerPoint. If that's not working maybe just google slide show makers and do a quick on to see if you like it? I think photobucket lets you do them, but I have no idea how good they are.

    Good luck!!

  • if the pictures are bigger than the slides just click on it and resize it. if you can't see the corners to grab them you can change the view to a lower percentage and you should be able to see it all. be sure to hold down the shift key when you resize them so they resize proportionately. there are other programs that do slideshows like if you want to play it as a movie on a dvd player. i got some recommendations awhile back but i dont remember what they are now. i need to get the software too because i would like to make one in place of not having a wedding video.
