You can come watch me and lots of other local bellydancers dance to anything but Middle Eastern music!
Yes, this is a shameless plug, but ONLY because a few of you have mentioned that you want to see some bellydancing. This is a super fun event- casual feel, family friendly, cheap, great quality dance, and excellent music. I don't know what everyone else is dancing to, but our troupe is doing a number to Lady Gaga's Born This Way and I'm doing a solo to the Black Keys Tighten Up. The point is to not dance to traditional music. It's shaping up to be a great afternoon!

I think we might have a casual thing in July, but it isn't confirmed. Otherwise there is nothing else on the calendar until our BIG annual show in September. Mirage is a night show on a stage in downtown Portland, but I think you'll be a little busy then!!!!
MA- I'm also hoping James will be up in time from his nap in time for Adam to come over with him. We dance right before intermission and I'd like him to tape us! The good news is the Maine State Ballet building has lots of halls for running around and it's a pretty informal gig. I mean, we don't want kids screaming continually throughout performances, but we may have folks sitting on the floor and bellydance is tons of fun for little kids since a lot of dancers interact with the audience.
