Need Help: only attended 1 year of college

My DH is writing his first resume from scratch.  He attended a college full time for 1 year only, then in 1987 he was hired for the one and only company that he worked for until 2010.  He did not continue his education or receive a degree.

How should he describe his education on his resume?

TIA!

Re: Need Help: only attended 1 year of college

  • I wouldn't even talk about his education on his resume.  Leave it off completely.

With 23 years of experience, he should be able to fill his resume with that.

  • It sounds like his job doesn't relate to the college courses. I'd leave it off

  • I agree with PP.  It won't help to highlight something he started but did not complete/accomplish.
  • At this point he should leave it off his resume completely.
  • He could write that he attended from 19XX-19XX, and maybe list a couple of courses that could relate to the position.  I think it's better to show that he made the effort!
