"I'm entitled to my own opinion"
Why do people fall back on this when they're told they're stupid or when they're presented facts to the contrary of their statement?
Yes, you're entitled to your opinion. No, I do not have to respect it.
(In case anyone's wondering, this is sparked by this discussion on my local, and a few previous discussions).
Re: "I'm entitled to my own opinion"
What a dolt. And the thing about it being disrespectful to call him W? Um, hello, has that idiot seen the "W" stickers that were all over cars when he was running for election. Like Hillary, he used that name to identify himself.
I hate the "I'm entitled to my own opinion" BS. Yes, yes you are. And I'm equally entitled to think you're a dolt for holding said opinion.
She's offended that people refer to the President as "Bush?"
I hope she never has spoken of Blair, or Thatcher or Sarkozy or Hu Jintao or Mandela or Bhutto. Wait scratch that, pretty sure she doesn't even know who those people are.
And to answer your question, I have no idea why people say that. I assume it's because they've got nothing else
And not all opinions are created equal.
So annoying.
Yeah, its really hard when you are trying to make a rational and logical argument for soemthing and all the person can say is "I am entitled to my opinion". You cannot argue with people like that. Doesnt matter that they are obviously wrong and that they have no real reasons to back up their opinion.
So yeah, I am entitled to think said people are stupid, and in the case of my coworked, bigoted.
Im not bitter at all.
Ok, now she's simultaneously pulling the "no one wants to have an intelligent conversation" card and the "if you don't agree with me, you didn't have to respond" card.
Seriously, it's time to put on the big girl panties...
UPDATE - she now DD'ed.
I'm waiting for a GBCMsp.
