Grand Ole Day in St. Paul

Is this any good? My only day off this week in Sunday and DH thinks I should take it easy and not go out, but I don't want to miss it if it's awesome. Any opinions?

We go to the parade in the morning and then walk Grand Ave, check out the stores and eat. I wouldn't say it awesome, but a fun tradition.

I always went when I was in college, super fun to go listen to the bands and walk the streets and eat vendor food. Haven't been in about 5 yrs, but we were just talking about it and I think we'll go take the kids for the parade and kids stuff in the morning.

Thanks. I guess I'll see how stressful the rest of the week is and how the weather is Sunday. I'm so excited it's been nice I want to do everything!!

Sadly I was born and raised 5 blocks off of Grand Ave. My Junior High was on Grand Ave, some of my favorite stores are still on Grand Ave, but I have NEVER, not even once been to Grand Ole Day. I'm not huge on crowds and its a big drinking festival so I've just never really been one to need to do that. I can go to Grand any day of the week, but I've heard it can be fun if you go earlier in the day.

It depends on whether you like crowds. By mid-afternoon the street is packed (especially if the weather is nice) and it's almost impossible to find a parking spot. It is fun, but I would prefer to go earlier in the day and leave before it gets too crazy.

I'm not a huge fan. It's alright. It's a huge crowd and it's lots of exhibits and craft stands and stuff, which I'm not into. If you like any of the bands playing, it's kind of fun.
