Nervous! First Time...

Hello!  So I am scheduled to get my first Brazillion wax this afternoon.  I wanted to do it for our wedding, but I chickened out.  Our first anniversary is next week, so I have gathered up the courage to get it done this time! I am sooo nervous though, I am just worried that I will have a bad reaction to the wax or something.  I have very sensitive skin, when I get my eyebrows waxed, I always break out for the first few days.

So if any of you have some advice, that would be great! I will be taking an ibprofun before hand, so hopefully that will relieve some of the pain.

Re: Nervous! First Time...

  • well they say you shouldn't do it a week before your period coz it will just intensify the pain. inform your waxing salo to use products for sensitive skin.

  • Try No Scream Cream if you are worried about the pain.  It numbs the area and helps a lot.  It is a little awkward at first, but totally worth it and just remember, that they are professionals.  The waxing salon near my house says to avoid ibuprofen because it can make you more prone to bruising.  Good luck!
  • Good luck! Some women love getting waxed. I tried it once (before my wedding) and I couldn't bring myself to go back. It was soooo painful to me (especially certain parts) and I just couldn't make myself go back. But some women get it done all the time and say it's not so bad. So I really think it just depends on the person.

  • Do not be nervous! I've been getting it done consistently for 4-5 years and while the first one of two times were no picnic, it's 200% worth it.  Now I can read a book while she is working on me. LOL.

For advice: go right after your period (rather then before when your skin is more sensitive).  Go to a place that uses hard wax as it's gentler on you and the job is done quicker.  A couple advils an hour before and all will be well.  I am sure you'll love the results, I can't imagine not doing it now.

  • this may seem strange, but i ask the person who waxes me to put a hot rag on my area. (i bring my own) it loosens the hair follicles and makes it easier. think about it, the colder/more nervous you are, you get goosebumps & will cause more of a rash/bumps. good luck!!

  • I will never have another I have really sensitive skin and my entire bikini and pubic area broke out and when they hair grew back it was ingrown. Probably this biggest waste of money and worst pain I have seriously ever felt, even worse then child birth. No lie!
